Druski is LEGIT!

I feel like this one definitely needs to lead to a deeper conversation. He mentioned it above.

Forest Whitaker played an Ugandan dictator, Don Cheadle played a Rwandan doctor, Will Smith played a Nigerian-American doctor, Denzel played a South African activist, and all got praise for those roles.

The only convo worth having is why certain people continue to let themselves be vessels of ignorance and narratives designed to divide and conquer.

Black folks in the Caribbean and in Great Britain, the Netherlands, Spain, and Portugal come from the same conditions that Black Americans have suffered. Africans on African soil have experienced cultural oppression and social subjugation during colonization. The details may differ, but the structure of exploitation and dehumanization and the aftermath on Black peoples social position worldwide are too similar to pretend that a Black foreigner can never understand the history of Black Americans (or vice versa).

Mentioning Black American leaders and ignoring how instrumental they were in the liberation of black African peoples worldwide and how much they worked with Black thought leaders is engaging in historical revisionism to justify tribalism. Anyone who buys into this replacement narrative has learned nothing from the last 150 years of global black history and is failing to see how divide and conquer is being used again to take away all the rights that civil rights leaders fought for.

To be clear, this is not just directed towards the FBA folks; it also applies to black immigrants who come here and act like they’re better than Black Americans. We can all work together towards a safe and prosperous future for black peoples in the US, or nobody will get to enjoy whatever rights and privileges they take for granted.

I also think this complaint (waaa!!! they’re taking our roles) misses a less visible but very important point: having foreigners in works of historical fiction raises awareness about important issues that fans of those actors may not be familiar with, and that’s always a good thing when done right. How many of y’all became curious about post colonial African politics after watching Hotel Rwanda and TLKoS? Likewise, how many Black British folks became aware of the extent of corruption in American city politics after watching The Wire?

…. Not to mention American English is a branch of the British tongue. It’s easy for them. English is a very simple language

I remember I was positive Rick Grimes from the Walking Dead (Andrew Lincoln) was american for like 2 or 3 seasons 😂
Same with Homelander (Anthony Starr) for most of The Boys first season until I googled it. And a lot of other actors in the biggest tv shows and movies. So Druski does have a point.

In this instance, Jake isn’t trying to mock an entire race, just druski. True blackface was meant to be a caricature of an entire race and meant to be demeaning. Anyone that’s trying to conflate the two are being disingenuous and playing the victim.
White chicks was a dumb concept and l hate it was even created. And I’ve never seen it.

How is he not trying to mock "an entire race" by doing blackface? Are u kidding?

Jake is going with the "because you did it we can do to it too attitude" and then pretends he knows the history behind blackface. If he truly knew the history behind blackface he wouldn't dare touch it because people not playing and will crash out

There was no backlash with White Chicks because it was a spoof of "valley girls" and "white people" went go see the movie and laughed and felt no type of way about it

And he’s obviously spoofing druski and only druski. Unless he said something I’m not aware of.

What would your opinion be on this situation?

Jimmy Kimmell as Karl Malone.

Sure, but I don't think that invalidates his opinion on the matter.

Definitely does, he’s a trash panda. Why’s he even fraternizing with that dunce Jake Paul? Oh, maybe because Jake Paul probably paid him to be on that stream. So he can be bought.

Was literally standing on stage with a fool wearing a swastika shirt

We can agree to disagree.

You can turn Waka into a blank human being and the line of questioning that was given to Paul would still be a valid question.

Focusing on Waka allows Paul to be off the hook.

This ain't about Waka.

He ain’t never been off the hook to me. That’s my point. Your generation is full of Walka Flockas who hang out and chill around theses dudes. BEEN giving them passes for years. I’m from a place where “all money isn’t good money”

That’s my point. YOUR generation of black dudes hanging with cats like Adin Ross and Jake Paul :lol :lol

Shouldn’t even be congregating with them dudes. They’re all clowns

My generation? Ain't we about the same age?

I wrote it like that for a reason and yes. I’m 38. Even though we are the same age, I excluded myself because I’ve always seen through their BS. Even as a kid. The “white Mike” types and the white girls who liked rap and wanted me because I had dreads and wore exclusive shoes. I REALLY lived it. Waka is our age. I just looked at the lineup of Paul’s stream. The majority of the guests are black people. At least 50%. I’ve had so many white girls want me because of my hair and shoe game. My IG and FB are full of non black women who tried to holler at me. Past and present

That’s what I’m saying. Most of these 40 and under black men and women are losers and barely even know the history of their people in this country. Chilling and hanging with these people all for the financial gain.

You’ve got to remember that we are the first generation of black Americans who actually went to grade school, secondary and high school with white kids.

Our parents (my mom is 60) didn’t attend school with white kids until high school…

Us millennials, Gen-Z and beyond are the first ones who endured integration in its final form.

 Man I've literally said that these dudes were goofy for going on those dudes platforms. I've called out Game, Gil, and others that have done it. DOn't make it seem like I endorse it because I said Waka is asking Paul a legit question.

You a fool man.

I don’t disagree. That’s the point. Waka is just NOW asking those questions. He should’ve been doing it off the rip. That’s one of my points.

Some cats hang around these dudes for YEARS…. never check them, never pull their card. Knowing good and well that they’re racist. 5 years later, then want to talk. It’s not even about hanging around them. Hang with who you want, but check them off the rip.

I prefer my racism overt anyway. We have to coexist regardless so, I’d rather know, then have to guess

Like politicians. We know they golf and hang out and come to mutual agreements. Even though in public they’re at each others throats.

“Hey, you don’t like me, I don’t like you” is established from the get go. They’re diplomatic.
