I'm looking to buy a suit for oral arguments and externship season. Currently in law school at the moment. Is it worth it to buy a suit from Zara/Uniqlo and tailor it? Located in the LA area if anyone has some other options.

I would say invest a quality navy suit. Not sure if Suit Supply LA is open yet but I would consider spending a bit more on this instead, unless it's completely out of your budget. My rationale is that it will last you longer, it is of better quality and will likely serve you well after law school too. That navy suit can be paired with gray trousers, khaki chinos, etc and countless shirts and ties to give you variety throughout the externship season.
Unless you truly need it asap, don't go with express or uniqlo or whatever. Wait twice as long, double your budget and buy a quality suit.
Be patient, download the Nordstrom Rack app, check it a few times a week or go in person and do the same.
If you have the time and you're serious about investing in a decent suit just wait till Nordstrom's anniversary sale in July and get a solid Navy Hart Shaffer Marx for $300-400.

If you're a skinny/lean dude, hit up Jason at Thick as Thieves (www.thickasthievesla.com). He's in Pasadena, he can measure you in person. You can pick from a plethora of cloths and all. Go with gray or navy for your first one. If you have the $500-600 to invest, it's worth it. This was my first suit from him I bought in 2010. Picture taken yesterday. Jacket is pulling a bit since my chest grew, still need to let an inch out from the jacket. Wore it to numerous interviews, and such. $500 well spent. Thanks fellas. Repped.
SEF dude is smart to not operate at a loss. As long as quality is still there, it should be all good, right? The gravy train for Story Et Fall is leaving. Price is jumping up pretty rapidly. I paid $185 for my cropped Junipers just a couple months ago. Just ordered the gray suede joints in the regular cut and it was around $250-260.
I don't think he was operating at a loss much from the jump. I assume he made a few samples, and made the website. The shoes are made in Vietnam so labor is dirt cheap. He started the line with low prices to build a customer base. Everything is MTO which is presale so he gets your money before it gets made, not too much capital involved at all. Not going to lie, I had to think about it for a second since I became frugal with my purchases nowSEF dude is smart to not operate at a loss. This is a pretty common business model, similar to what I'm running with on mine.the cropped jodhpurs were always around 180+ and the regular ones were always 240-250. he didn't really raise the prices by much. The gravy train for Story Et Fall is leaving. Oh wow. Didn't know the gap was that huge from the start. His site is damn hard to navigate so he just sends me link directly via email.the cropped jodhpurs were always around 180+ and the regular ones were always 240-250. he didn't really raise the prices by much.
i bought the regular chelsea boots like 3 months ago...they were 240 and i just bought the grey ones and they are now 248.
im assuming you don't have the regular cut boots because they were always like 50+ more than the cropped boots

The regular junipers are more expensive and the little difference could be attributed to the exchange rate since he wants his money in sekThe gravy train for Story Et Fall is leaving.
