I think the rule of thumb is your tie should match the lapels on your tux both color and material. So I would say no go

Btw was at Barneys today and fell in love with the Saint Laurent chelseas and CP joints. SL's dont have the crepe sole, CP's do. I dress more streetwear, may just go for the CP's and the fact they are cheaper but man those SL's...

it's terrible in comparison to actual JE apparel.
if you are getting introduced to JE it might be a good start but the actual brand is a lot of better and that's no exaggeration.
