Zippered and riding a bike, a cropped jacket makes more sense as it won't need to fold (which would be uncomfortable). Their added length makes no sense to me.

It's def going to be too long for you. Schott mentioned that they're build to function as oppose to just for looks. They're an inch or two longer so your back will be covered when riding.
