Do you have any unpopular opinions???VOL....2

In 2026, there is no such thing as "chronically online" anymore.

We all live our lives around the internet whether you like to admit it or not. The internet is no longer a destination we purposefully "log onto." It is the invisible task of daily life. From ordering groceries and working remotely to navigating relationships and managing finances, opting out of the internet today is practically synonymous with opting out of society.

I hear you but I disagree, it definitely still exists. Personally I realized how disgusting my screen times/doom scrolling/wasting time online was, trying to cut back. It's tough

There’s definitely a difference between using the internet/social media and being chronically online.

Chronically online people TO ME are the folks that know and follow all of these “influencers” by name, arguing in comments about celebrity gossip, can’t even stop scrolling long enough to drive or have a normal conversation, have to post absolutely every part of their lives, etc.

"Chronically online" is generally used more as a very derogatory term to describe people who have some sort of very unhealthy obsession with one or multiple facets of online activity.
Living your life around the internet is just normalized at this point. When someone says chronically online, they're usually referring to the kinds of people with weird parasocial obsessions with influencers, celebrities etc or other kinds of unhealthy online obsessions that would negatively affect their ability to function.

It's more or less the equivalent of calling someone a basement-dwelling degenerate.

"Chronically online" is definitely a thing, and the pandemic did a great job at exacerbating it.

I used to be indifferent to social media, but I've come to feel that its current state is a net negative on society. I still scroll, but I limit my screen time nowadays and I don't participate in online discourse that much outside of NT.

It can't be healthy to constantly bombard yourself with information and content, a lot of which is geared to elicit a negative response. This is how I stay on my path of righteousness.

You gotta love the Good people at Darpa, what were all experiencing is because of that wonderful government organization.

My problem with multiple round interviews is the companies with least proven track records make you go thru them to have payout less than industry standard, even minimum wage jobs do it.
Might as do the full on lie detector test and c.i.a style integration to get a job at McDonalds.
