Do you have any unpopular opinions???VOL....2

I am not a parent but I work with 11-14 year olds every day.

Some of the more intelligent students make the dumbest decisions. So I know first hands those are two different abilities. (Smarts vs. Decision Making)

1. Delaying when youallow your kid to have a smart.phone isn't "keeping them behind."

2. I already said that smart phones are not the only form of high tech that your kids can gain access to. Not giving them a smart phone doesnt automatically mean they are shielded from the rest of the world.

It just means they don'tOWN a smart phone

Delaying and behind have the same meaning
Are you able to raise a child to make smart decisions (oxymoronic but we can ignore) without giving them a smart phone?

Once again this type of logic makes no sense. If your parents told you that you couldn't have that super nintendo as a kid because their dangerous, make you lazy, violent, etc and you can other things, doesnt that sound stupid?
This is the type of parenting that creates the punk teenagers. Trying to shield your child from things theyll already know about never comes out successful.
Ive also noticed the loudest people trying to tell me how to parent are the ones with **** children or dont even have kids at all

You are taking what I am saying and flipping it to a level in which I am not even presenting it.

We can drop it.

Its really not though :lol we got people that get so worked up over a 6 year old with a cell phone that you can put a tracking app on, limit app usage, who they can contact. But they let their kid up on stage with Nelly and buy them GTA :lol

Sure, that is a possibility but that isn't what this conversation was about.

We were strictly speaking on cell phone access. And you swung it to sheltering kids and them ended up as suckas lol.

A smart phone is basically a mobile laptop

Everything they can see on a computer can be seen on a smartphone

I am realistic. I know they are going to fo it. Which is why I wouldn't give them a smart.phone it put it on the internets

I see/hear out your concern. Children will always be curious with thier body parts especially at the age mention, when they are going through puberty.

It's a small laptop lol

You are not their age.

One way or another they will access the internet

My son had a phone since he was 10. He has a S8 now and he'll be 12 tomorrow. Still makes straight A's and is too involved with soccer to get in any trouble. We haven't had any issues.

As long as you know how to adjust the parental settings and check on them frequently then you're good.

Again, I KNOW THEY WILL.

I said that 500 times.

But I will not GRANT them that access with a smartphone. They won't be "bored" taking pics pf their ******* at 10 pm in their room.

So youre going to deny them access to all of that infinite information?

Would you deny them a laptop?
Which can be used in the same way?
