Dexter Season 4 Finale: The Getaway

Damn...i don't like this ending at all!!! I really didn't want to see Rita go. This will be very interesting for the next season, but now i'msomewhat turned off of the fact that they killed her.

is it wrong for me to be kinda relieved that Rita is gone?
laugh.gif

her voice was enough to annoy me, but what bothered me more was her nagging personality. always having Dexter do all the work in the household and constantlytelling him about needing to work @#$% out and talk about @#$%

I kinda knew Trinity got her though. Dude was too calm when he was about to get offed

im happy i came in here AFTER i watched the episode. damn, you guys ruined the ending for anyone who hasn't seen it yet. try using the spoiler option.

Sadly we never got to see Rita's chips on the show. She was mad annoying. Her ex-husband Paul kept her in line though.

so dexter was hiding in the back of his car the whole time and he didnt see with the drop top? lol show is great. i didnt like rita but that sort of sucked herdying like that.

love this show tho.

i can see him dying in the last season with his son older and taking over the role.

Wow. that was amazing. I guess all i can hope for is some Rita dialogues like the ones Dexter has with Harry. It'd be interesting to see if Dexter becomessofter or go over the edge in the next season. It can never be too soon.

Told you she dies.

Wonder what the whole PD dept and Deb are going to think about it. Afterall, the ITK went after Dex's sister and now the TK kills his wife......Quinn iscatching on for sure and now Deb knows the ITK was his brother...

Next season better start off with the crime scene and panic. If it skips straight to his single life and everything is put behind them with no questions asked,I will be very disappointed.

IMO, Harrison catching on and becoming what his dad is would be lame. Very predictable and not to mention he is a lot younger than Dex was and will notremember that.

I wonder if the TK had a little convo with Rita explaining who Dex really is before he sliced her.

With 10 minutes left, I thought for sure that this season was going to carry on into next season.

hmm ...... just when Dexter was juggling his own trinity ...... the trinity killer destroys it ...... I need to rewatch this season from beginning to end...... but it's weird how they're telling you how most serial killers are born ....... the whole significance, of the FBI taking over the case and howsinister their intentions seem to be ............
How two serial killers were birthed from Dexter's mothers death ...... and how certain Harry was of this occurring .... essentially taking the one that hecould easier control

Anyways I'm going to stop here

TK never found out exactly what dexter does till the very end. So theres no way he told her he was akiller.

So will Dexter now train his son to be a killer the way his "dad" trained him?

That was a crazy @+$ finale last night.

Trinity killing off Rita was for sure the last thing I expected to happen. They set it up so perfectly too with the whole looking at the moon scene, then thevoicemail she left him about the moon.

I really think that Trinity didn't put up a fight and was at ease with his fate on the table because he knew he had killed Rita and Dexter had no idea.

As for next season, Dex's son is still waaay to young to start stepping in his fathers footsteps. I am definitely interested to see where they go from herethough. Does Rita's children live with the grand parents and Dex keep his son? What does he do with the house and his apartment that Deb is living in?

Anyways, crazy season finale to one of the best shows on TV. Now we gotta wait forever for next season.

After thinking on it for a bit, I'm still trying to figure out how Dexter caught up to Trinity so fast.

And for those of you wishing it was Debra that got killed instead of Rita, that wasn't likely to happen. Michael C. Hall (Dexter) and Jennifer Carpenter(Debra) are married in real wife and Hall is also the executive producer of the show so.....

Debra's character is a more intregal part of the show than Rita's imo.

From EW.com

As my esteemed colleague Ken Tucker just pointed out, conspiracy theories are flying around fast and furious in the wake of last night's mind-blowingDexter season finale. [SPOILER ALERT] Could Rita be alive? Is it possible she died at the hands of Dexter and not Trinity? And should we be reading into acertain timeline inconsistency? I got exec producer Clyde Phillips back on the horn for another round of burning questions…

Is Rita really dead?
CLYDE PHILLIPS: Yes.

Is Trinity really dead?
PHILLIPS: Yes. Cut up and drifting in the Gulf Stream.

Did Trinity kill Rita?
PHILLIPS: Yes he did. That's partly what he meant when he said: "It's already over."

My readers are pointing out a potential timeline inconsistency: Trinity left Miami while it was still light out, yet in the message Rita left Dexter shecommented about how beautiful the moon was that night.
PHILLIPS: Your readers are smarter than we are. Totally missed it. Honest mistake.

im thinking next season they will have to dexter as a suspect for his wifes death. i know it was trinity's m.o. but dexter has no aliby for hiswhereabouts, masuka saw her kiss another dude..quinn thinks he goes clubbing and chasing tail..if it werent for the bathtub death dexter would easily be aprime suspect.

imo, that is too cliche. they should think of something else. But the like someone said, alot of situations are pointing to Dexter. Rita in the tub, Trintydead and Deb getting real suspicious......The first season i kind of figured that Deb was going to to find out about Dexter cuz she be knowing her #%%%, butnow i don't know. I kinda thinks she will ultimately find out

Word. As far as Arthur was concerned, Dex was at worst an amoral extortionist, who would let a child be kidnapped in front of him without raisingan eyebrow. Unlike Miguel, Arthur had no idea who Dexter truly was until his final moments.

It really does look like Dex could get pinned for Rita's death. Especially with Quinn taking on sort of a Doakes role (questioning/harassing Dexter becausesomething about him bothers certain people).

imo, that is too cliche

Interestingly enough, in the novel, the author positions Cody as having his own Dark Passenger. But then again, I think the books are awful and even the authoradmits the show is far superior.

My dude Doakes was obsessed with Dex. Quinn is following the same patterns though, but i don't think Deb would let Quinn get that close to Dex. Especiallysince they are partners. Still can't believe how the season ended like this. Last 4 episodes were great. On to the next
