Whats the best way to wash and get that stiffness back in the STF's? Will soaking them in cold water and then air drying them work? Or is there another method?

Also, same question goes for selvedge denim.....how would I go about washing those??

Thanks!!
A soak should do. I starch mine.

imperial dukes, dont size down very much though if any. imperials stretch but are tight fitting to start with.
youre just looking for a straight tapered fit. thats what new standards on, like a slim straight
flathead and samurai also have awesome cuts if your wallets fat
thanks for the suggestions, i'm gonna look into them.
To bad dukes cost like double APC's. You realize you can get APC's in black right?

Glad it worked out for you.

So to shrink denim, a hot soak + air dry? No need for starch?

Mine aren't raw..

U only need to starch when its done air drying if you want that extra crispiness, but to shrink...yes, hot soak + air dry. I only soaked mine for 25 min.

Don't quote me on this, but I think the longer u let it soak the more it will shrink, but I heard you gotta let it soak for at least 20 min. Someone wannaconfirm this or correct me?

Where can I find Levi's 501 jeans online in a size 28x30? Or any other jeans around that price and size online? I went to 7 different stores and thesmallest size I found where 30x30.

Look for the brand Academi. They're $80 for raw selvage which is pretty cheap compared to other selvage. Watch out for them at Urban Outfitters. I've seen them as low as $37.
the makers of academi (aiden dinh) actually discontinued the line so anything that is in stores is it from what ive heard. ive been trying to finda pair myself but every store i look into they arent there anymore and have asked several places if they will be getting anymore in, and they say theyaren't.

Questions:

I just got a pair of unwashed (not the one-wash) 1955 sugarcanes. Are these supposed to fit kinda baggy? Will a cold/hot soak shrink these at all and is ithot water or cold water?

Also can you do this by just wearing them in a shower and standing there for 20-30 mins?
laugh.gif

Also this is how they fit right now:

Do these need to be hemmed? I might rock them with a bigger cuff i'm not entirely sure. I was just messing around with them when i took this picture.

The last pair of jeans I had I just wore but since these are a bit nicer i'm curious.

How does the ARTFUL DODGER and CHEAP MONDAY jeans fit?

I have some bulky legs due to being athletic throughout my life, so slim fit wouldnt really fit on me. I'm a size 31 on straight/relaxed regular jeans.

dont wear them in the shower. If you want them to shrink, hot water 30minutes-1hr, then hang dry. IMO they are kinda too baggy, but if thats theway you want them so be it. They will shrink a little though but they wont become super tight.

when you get some new raw denim, its recommended you soak first, unless they're sanforized, to avoid expected shrinkage and shifting of fades.there are several different ways to soak. its all a matter of personal opinion

you dont wash them for as long as you can go without washing (around a year should be time for a wash) to get the worn in fades to settle in. and if you dodecide to wash them it should be a cold inside out wash with either no soap or a special organic soap.
