After 17 years in the NBAKobe Bryant  is still one of the best players in the league.
And there's one reason why — his insane work ethic.

We picked out our favorite Kobe stories that illustrate just how hard he works.

They include marathon workouts, playing teammates to 100 after practice, and refusing to eat the junk food he loves the most.

Kobe has never been out of shape, but he decided to change himself as a precautionary measure. He told the Guardian:

"With summer basketball leading directly into the season — and I'm expecting to play until next June — I have to take some load off my knees. I've got to shave some of this weight."

From ESPN's Rick Reilly:

"Among a dozen other drills, Bryant does suicide push-ups. At the top of the pushup, he launches himself off the mat so hard that both his feet come off the ground and his hands slap his pecs. He does three sets of seven of these. This makes me turn away and whimper softly."

He has eliminated sugar and pizza and only eats lean meat.

He told ESPN:

"There aren't really any supplements that I'm taking from that perspective. What I've done really is just train really hard and watch my diet. I think that's the thing that catches guys most. They don't do self assessing."

Some of these

Some things on that Kobe work ethic list is insane and some are just plain stupid. That Dirk fadeaway, really? Does he even do that in a game?

Impressed with the weight loss and keeping players after practice though. Also, how does learning how to play Moonlight Sonata by ear relate to anything? List felt a little contrived once I got to that point. Still got what the messages was trying to convey about Bean though.

Wonder if Jordan worked just as hard as Kobe does.

I guess he just lucked up and won 6 rings. 3 peat, left, came back, and 3 peat again.

Undefeated in finals.

Not even going any further.

Point is, u should be ashamed of yourself for wondering that.

MJ taught kobe not the other way around.

He has done the dirk fadaway in game. He learned it because it's a nearly unguardable shot. Dude wants that full arsenal. in fact, I think he did it against the mavs earlier this year, iirc the commentators started hatin lol.

He said he learned the sonata for Vanessa. Around the time of the whole divorce thing.

I'm proud to say I have incorporated the Dirk fadeaway into my game.

Defenders always get pissed off when I pull it off.

What a fourth quarter last night :wow: Missed the game, but I'm glad the Lakers was able to pull through at the end.

I did it twice today when I was hooping this morning.

Went 1-2 on the attempts. Hey 50% isn't too shabby. :smokin

I have the dirk and the kobe fadeaway but I only have the fade away on one side of the court, man the footwork on the other side is hard for me idk why.

I can get any shot I want, any time.......

Making it? Well, let's say there's a reason I'm down with the Mamba..

I'm just playin, I patterned my game after #32, always be passin. I've hit so many of my friends in the face cuz they aren't ready, they learn real quick to be ready after a couple of those.

Have to admit, havin Magic and Kobe as two of your favorite players of all time is a tad odd. But mix in Nick Van E, folks will see what I'm about.
