He also said it doesn't matter if the players are not friends off the court but there needs to be respect.

It's nothing. 2 days ago he said he wanted Kobe to push him further. Dwight simply likes to talk to the media. See Orlando, last year.
What we really need him to do is stop with lazy fouls. It cost us last night. The 6th foul is him being aggressive, that's fine. The one he got first half just pushing Turiaf for no reason, and the offensive he got pushing LO are NOTHING fouls, no reason or purpose. Need to clean those up big time.

I agree. He always shove people for no reason. The bad thing about is its soo obvious.. KG does it all the time too but he's to clever for the refs

Kobe took a lot of jabs from shaq earlier in his career and it did not really affect the team that much. Main reason the Lakers 3peat ended is cause the role players became old as hell. So locker room stuff is not that significant.

Chemistry?

CHEMISTRY!?

I JUST WANT TO WIN A GAME!...

The Lakers are 6-14 this year when Kobe scores 30+ points, the point im trying to make is that while he is playing one on one and taking/making unbelievable shots 20 feet out-players like Gasol get out of sync. I hope the lakers do trade Gasol, so he can go somewhere and be a legit 2nd option.

bruh you did not watch any games at all if you didn't see that Gasol get touches. He got plenty of touches just happen to bricks, blocked or get out hustled on offensive board

I'm going to be at the game tomorrow section 116 row H seat 1. My first time going to a game this year and look like it's going to be an L.

Can we just make Pau come off the bench, so he's the focal point and won't be out on the 3 point line of the second unit.

Start- Nash, Kobe MWP Jamison Dwight

Second Unit- Morris Meeks Ebanks? Hill Pau at Center.

An inside out game spaces the floor and Pau helps the second unit gain more points that are needed in times when Kobe and nash are not on the floor.

Idgaf about his shattered Ego or emotions. But that was Pauthetic.

Hope the lakers lose today - so they can make changes. Just making the playoffs is not good enough.

They dont have to lose today in order for them to realize they need to make changes.
They shouldve realized this by now.
This is a franchise that expects winning.
Living in a nightmare right now.
At least the Vlade/Sedale/Van Exel/Campbell/Jones/Lynch/Peeler teams of the 90's brought it every night with heart.

This isn't a bad idea IMO. I like it a LOT actually.

Lakers need a little scoring in the second unit since it's so deflated on offense. The move would also encourage Jamison to pick up his game a little bit. Speaking of which, I'm not sure why he was/is in D'Antoni's doghouse. He's a flex 4 that can spread the floor. MDA loves guys like that.

Anywho, this move would open up the court a little bit and really get the ball movement going. One of the things I mentioned earlier before the season started was that having Nash would alleviate all the clogged up mess you guys would have on the floor with Pau and Dwight. Pau coming off the bench would help everyone more IMO and allow for the shooters to capitalize.

The media would have a field day with this of course :lol

i just expect this current team to hold down the fort until the trade deadline

if the trade deadline just comes and goes and this is the team that the lakers take into the playoffs... assuming that they make it... well

Ebanks is out of the rotation for good..

Pau could still start and get his time (12-14 minutes) as the primary big. Last few minutes of the 1st/ first 5 of the second. Last few of the 3rd. First few of the 4th.

The most glaring thing I'm sure everyone can see from our rotation is we need a backup PG (Obvious) and another 2/3 (Which is a little less obvious)

If Jamison could play the 3. Problem solved, He'd get minutes, and we'd fill in a hole.. but he can't so back to square 1.

Maybe if we cut Pau to 26-27 minutes may be an answer. Takes stress off his body, possibly allowing him to play with a little more in the tank. That could open up some minutes for Jamison, If Pau's minutes are correctly split between PF, and primary big at Center.

MWP still a very good defender... BUT. We should be limiting his minutes as well, so he can keep his intensity up high. He's playing 34 minutes. And like Pau should be at the 26-27 minute range.

We're an old team, but that doesn't mean we can't WIN. What it means is the players who need it Nash, MWP & Pau have to get rest.

Kobe & Dwight can play 35-38. But Pau, MWP & Nash need rest to keep their level up. And that's where our problem rests. Hill & Jamison can fill in for Pau. We'll be just fine there.

BUT MWP has no backups and Ebanks isn't the answer. Nash has no backups and Duhon, Morris & Blake are not the answer.

Those 2 holes in the rotation have cost us multiple games. While our defense should get the blame for 90% of our loses. We'd steal a few if we just had a solid backup PG & SF.

I'd say it's imperative that we get the backup PG and not worry about SF. SF is easier to get in FA for $3.5 mil as opposed to a backup PG. Also if we get a solid enough backup PG. Maybe spill someone a few minutes into SG. And play Kobe more at the 3.

I just want Nash and Kobe on the floor at different times. Start them have Kobe finish te first with him and Pau since the know each others game good.
In the second let nash do his with either Pau or Dwight.
Just have one of them two in the game at all times. Unless they blowout a team (unlikely)

After this killer stretch of games, the writing will be officially on the wall. IF this experiment is not going to work...

Trade deadline deal 8)

#3

Chicago gets:
Dwight Howard
Steve Blake
Chris Duhon

Los Angeles gets:
Joakim Noah
Luol Deng
Marquis Teague
V. Radmanovic

whether you like it or not Dwight gives us the best trade options... no one is touching Pau right now :rolleyes

Who is this clown on Access Sportsnet saying you dont need chemistry to play defense?! :lol

His analogy is the MOST ridiculous thing ever, he said (paraphrasing), "if 5 random guys play a pickup game, that dont have chemistry, they can play defense still. You don't need chemistry to play defense, as a coach I would like it, but you dont need it"

:rollin :rollin :rollin

Did he really just compare 5 random guys at a pickup game to the NBA elite players? Thats why youre a FORMER head coach. Get that guy off my TV.

Having a second unit with Pau at the 5 and Ebanks at the 4 would result in rape in the paint

edit: nvm didn't see hill in there

You can't have a lineup on the floor without Nash or Kobe. They would get pressured to death with Morris, Meeks, Ebanks.
