Down 5 at the half, had a MAJOR drought in the tail end of the 2nd. Can't have offensive lapses like that. Also, we need to get someone in to guard Gordon.

Dwight isn't a consistent enough option down low to depend on.
Pau won't shoot/aggressively look to score.
Kobe having a real bad night so far (looking at the 3 turnovers mostly).
No defense.
There's your problems. 3 of those are season-long issues, IMO.

what was really bugging me was the open layups at the rim. like no one wants to step infront of the guy? no effort. its digusting.

How about guarding him as a team? There are schemes for situations like this.

Dwight can't be the only guy protecting the rim when our perimeter defense is as bad as it is. The opposition sees pau down there and attack him like he's 6'4

I highly doubt the lakers lose tonight. Hornets are garbage and always find ways to lose plus they are not playing for anything.

The real problem is defense, specifically we don't have the foot speed to cover quick guards and rotate.
Offensively we settle to much for outside shots, and we aren't a good enough shooting team to do that.
For example Meeks gets burned every time and either Dwight is late or Pau is late and if they are there on time, the next pass we are toast.
Offensively, instead of having Jamison cut to the hole he enjoys shooting threes, same with Metta, and Clark. Dwight can't get his own shot at the rim, and Pau isn't getting the ball or demanding it enough.
