I'm scoring double digits easy.
10 pts, 5 reb, 3 asst. at the very least if I played a whole 48 mins. So basically the coach can't take me out the game for bad shot selection right?
and if you doubt me. TRUTHFULLY I GET BUSY!
I'm an above average athlete even at the NBA level.

You understand jumping is just one component of athleticism right? I'm not one that's big for combine numbers because it's a closed environment, but I'd be willing to bet almost all these players have at least 30' verticals
Ramon Sessions? Are you serious?
Jimmer has a 33" inch vertical, is built like a tank and has outstanding body control
Steve Nash is a crazy good athlete
Sasha is a 6' *+*%%@@ 6" two guard who has good enough lateral quickness to guard the position. That's a below average athlete?
Chris Duhon. 35" vertical. 6'7" wingspan.
DJ Augustin. 35' vertical.
Jameer Nelson 34' vertical... Is he not explosive enough? I have no *+*%%@@ idea how he's a subpar athlete. Dude's an effective guard at 5'11"
Kikrk Hinrich can make an all defensive team but is a sub-par athlete?
All these measurements don't even take into effect quickness on the court which is much harder to quantify. No disrespect but you're in la la land if you think everyone you listed (with the exception of a couple) are subpar athletes. I've been around a high level of basketball my whole life so i'm not some dude just sitting behind a computer screen posting on nt and playing 2k12 all day
Like I said, I don't even put stock in those numbers because basketball isn't played in a combine environment. Some people's reactionary athleticism, which is impossible to quantify, is very good even if they don't test well. JUMPING IS ONLY ONE COMPONENT OF ATHLETICISMOriginally Posted by MonStar1

YOk and I'm 6'1 with a 6'6 wingspan and a 37 inch vert....Just stop it man. U don't have to be in the NBA to be a great athlete

I'm not saying you have to be a great athlete to be an NBA player... but you have to be a very good one. Being an "average" athlete by NBA standards still puts you in the top percentage of all people...
My uncle played in the Big East... Team went to the Sweet Sixteen or better three times, Was very quick but he would go play pickup with the Celtics and said it was a different story... Everyone was quick, and those that weren't (like Danny Ainge) were really long to make up for it.
Three kids have gone D1 from my high school in the last 5 years. One was a freak athlete in high school... 35+" vertical... even switched over to football for his 5th year and is playing a little on defense for a top 10 D-1AA team... He turned into a catch awnd shoot guy in college (he became very good at it)... I'd say he's probably very close to being an NBA-level ATHLETE but I'm not completely sure. And he is without a doubt more athletic than you.
Again no disrespect, but if my memory serves me right you played for an average division 3 school and put up average numbers... Maybe u didn't jive with the coach which i understand.... but if u had those vitals at that level of competition and weren't effective i'd say it's your feel for the game that needs work. That vertical would be the best or second best for a majority of mid to low major teams

NBA players are like Thor in most of you guys eyes because you've never been an athlete at any level.
ive played against a elite nba before(Durant), role player NBA players(Lawson, Blanch, Shawn Williams and Sam Young) and major D1 players.
trust me when i tell you, if one of them dudes say this bamma right here isnt going to score one bucket this game(no sagging d and no uncontested jump shots for you)...believe me you wont score.
same here. you think ty lawson can stop me from scoring for 48mins? he wont ever double the post? he wont rotate on help d? hes gonna chase down block my lay-ups? effff outta here
why you keep saying 48 mins? you not playing 48...pointblank...
are you gonna get trained to prepare you for this nba? no...so that mean the shape your in now is not gonna cut it.
like i said if he said you not scoring you not scoring. that means every shot is contested and no, hes not helping off.
lets say you play against OKC...russell, idk if you keep up with basketball...but did you ever watch what he did to OJ Mayo when they played SC? kid is a animal on the defensive end of the court.
the funny thing to me is you really think your gonna get 10 points.
1. this guy is bigger, faster, quicker, and stronger then you. plus hes gonna put a hand up on every shot you attempt.
2. please explain how you gonna score 5 buckets in the half court with Serg and Perkins waiting on the back line and Durant lurking? stop it.
3. that one dribble pull up is not gonna get you enough separation to get a clean look.
4. you gonna come down and have to play d on westbrook. Thats gonna beat you up so much. you wont have nothing for the Offense.
5. therefore your not playing 48.
6. so you want somebody to create a shot for you? drive and kick...nah, you gotta get a legit bucket out there.
7. at 6'2 im pretty sure your gonna be ask to run the Offense, not playing off the ball...so now you gotta run the O and get 10 points. like lets be real.
them dudes are gonna treat you like the Colts...nobody wants to lose to them. Meaning nobody is gonna want to the guy that gives up a bucket to a guy off the streets in a real nba game.
yea you might have played pick up ball with d1 and nba players...that cool. But when that money on the line...scholarship money or a paycheck. and they tell them "hey Westbrooke your assignment tonight is a no name. Fresh off the streets and he thinks he gonna come in and get 10 pt." You seriously think thats gonna happen...child please.
rant...at work trying to burn some time.
you're arguing against yourself.Originally Posted by MonStar1

Darius Washington is an elite athlete and he's your height, playing in Macedonia. "Above average" 6'2 guard is not even seeing a 10-day.
what does that have to do with the question?
Darius Washington isn't out the league because he isn't a great athlete. It's a combination of skill, attitude, bball IQ, and personal goals thats kept him out the league.
Look at Gerald Green and James White and countless other athletes. NBA is the best athletes in the world who can play basketball not just the best athletes.

I'm 6'2" with a 6'3" wingspan, a manager for a d1 team, and had a 30 inch vertical and could do every single one of those dunks you did off the lob to myself. So its not that impressive.Originally Posted by MonStar1
