DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - The Penguin out 9/19 then every Sunday on MAX

Someone out there gotta think lost is the greatest show ever

Don't know about greatest show ever lol but one of my friend's is a huge fan of that series and constantly tries to get me to watch it.

Was great for like 3 or 4 seasons.. Then completely went off a cliff

It sucked you in and got you in deep (reading write ups and over analyzing every little detail).. And just crapped all over you

Joker is basically just a cash grab for this film. For the person that's not into super heroes or comic books, he and Harley are the most recognizable names in the movie.

But to put it lightly, he's not a pivotal part of the plot at all. Moreso a device used to tell Harley's origin and provide some background for the upcoming DCEU

I really figured he was a red herring in the marketing but still I want his cameos to be a nice starter for the future batman solo movie.

Yeah tbh a lot of the merchandising they did told a lot more about the character compared to the film.

If anyone has any questions I'd be happy to answer in spoilers or PMs

Review: Loaded with Jokes But Devoid of Wit, Suicide Squad Is Dead on Arrival

So much happens in David Ayer’s DC Comics adaptation Suicide Squad that by the end, it’s as if you’ve seen nothing.

Harley Quinn’s entrance is the best moment in Suicide Squad. After that, you can leave. Robbie is a criminally appealing actress, likable in just about every way, but that intro aside, Suicide Squad doesn’t serve her well. It serves no one well, least of all its audience. Other actors wander through listlessly

How is this possible?

Out of 8, I'd give it a 6.5. I'd give MoS a 5 and BvS about the same.

Movie really gets into it right off the bat. It helped that my screening had some hype up footage and didn't have any previews or anything. They do a solid job of introducing the characters and it's very reminiscent of Ryan Coogler's directing style in that facet.

The movie runs at a really fast pace and the dialogue can be kinda cringeworthy at some points but each character has their own motivations and I think they all get their respective screen time divided fairly.

Tbh I think Joker would've been better suited as a cameo in a flashback to the death of Jason in BvS or something, but I think he was used pretty perfectly in the movie for what the big wigs at DC we're going for.

Movie was cool though. Reminds me of the first time I saw Avengers. Movie wasn't perfect but it was a fun watch.

Fans Petition to Shut Down Rotten Tomatoes Over DC Movie Reviews

For much of the past year, there’s been a bit of a groundswell among a small but vocal contingent of movie fans, who are angry at film critics for their perceived bias in favor of Marvel Studios’ movies over Warner Bros/DC’s. This has even manifested itself in a conspiracy theory, that movie critics are in fact being bribed by Marvel parent company Disney in order to praise Marvel films and trash DC ones.

If fans thought this groundswell would be disrupted by the release of the latest DC Extended Universe film, Suicide Squad, that appears to not be the case, considering early reviews of the film have been mostly negative. Now, certain DC fans have focused on a new target amidst the online movie culture: The website that aggregates critics’ reviews.

A petition was launched Tuesday on Change.org, just a few hours after the Suicide Squad embargo lifted, calling to “Shutdown Rotten Tomatoes.” Introduced by Abdullah Goldwater of Alexandria, Egypt, the petition states Rotten Tomatoes’ aggregation of “unjust bad reviews” for Suicide Squad and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice have negatively impacted “people’s opinion” of these films.

Sui25 Fans Petition to Shut Down Rotten Tomatoes Over DC Movie Reviews

The petition, as of this writing, has garnered 1,534 signatures of its current goal of 2,500 (this goal has been increased from 500 to 1,000 to 1,500 prior to the 2,500 goal). Should the petition reach its goal, it will be delivered to Rotten Tomatoes itself, which would be asked to voluntarily shut itself down. As of the first 56 reviews, Suicide Squad has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 34 percent, firmly placing it in the Rotten category.

Now, the creator of this petition is free to hold whatever views he wishes about Suicide Squad, about the relative strength of the DC and Marvel universes, and the merits of film critics. And this is true whether or not the author of the petition or any of its 1,534 signatories have yet seen the very film that they’re defending, which doesn’t arrive in theaters until Friday.

However, this petition, as well as the general idea among fans that film critics are conspiring against their favorite movies is based on a whole host of assumptions that are false: That film critics aren’t supposed to be biased; that any significant number of critics have especially strong leanings towards Marvel or DC in particular; that any movie studio would waste its money on bribes for critics; that Batman V Superman didn’t deserve its negative reviews; that critics have the power to hurt the box office performance of blockbuster movies. Additionally, though fans frustrated with the reviews of Suicide Squad and Batman V Superman may believe the shut down Rotten Tomatoes will help, it would simply eliminate the review aggregator, not the reviews themselves.

Bunch of clowns, don't get why bad reviews pain them so much but I'll leave it before another cry baby gang up. Apologies to any babies that don't cry that are offended.

Ayer has enough credit for me to go see this regardless.

Personally i think the plot will be ok. No dumb moments like BVS. What may kill it for me is the dialogue.

Who did Clint Eastwood's son end up actually playing? People were obsessed with that for a hot min in here 8o

:rollin @ petition to shut down the WB owned Rotten Tomatoes.

If it did they'd just lose money cuz somebody else would hop on to make a site that collects reviews for movies and shows the average rating b critics and the general audience.
