DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - The Penguin out 9/19 then every Sunday on MAX

She's from Israel and no she doesn't look like a typical Euro chick.

Ok.

Olga Kurylenko has a more exotic look than Gadot. All this hype for a broad who has no acting capability.

Man stop, you are reading way too much into it due to hate. :lol

I simply said she was growing on me for the part and on further thought, she does have an exotic look. A simple opinion of mine, not some blanket statement by DC to excuse her hiring. I never said she was the best actress for the part, you read one mans opinion and you go ahead and spew hate.

And actually, I see more hate for her hiring than love so I have no idea this hype you are talking about. Have you read the posts in here after she got hired? Most already hate her for it.

Lighten up.

For a relatively unknown actress Bridget Regan had a good look. But yeah, at this point, I'm hoping for the best with Gadot. I'm sure she went through extensive screen tests and probably looked good in the outfit. Trust me, I'm very critical of Man of Steel and have many complaints, but I felt Snyder's casting was excellent.

Ill, you've been away a while, can you list those thoughts of yours on TDKR and Man of Steel somewhere.....saaaay, a movie thread? ;) :lol

I've seen you reference some thoughts, but not what they actually were.

I still think one of the main reasons for casting her was her training with the Israeli Defense Force. I mean, IMHO WW doesn't need to be an award winning actress. An average actress can pull it off if done right. She's an amazon warrior, so I think acting chops comes third after looks and action scene capability.

What's up with nt mobile now? I tried to post a pic from my phone and nada. It seemed to work a few weeks ago.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Academy Award winner Chris Terrio has been brought on board to write another draft of Batman Vs. Superman for Warner Bros. The Argo scribe has a strong relationship with both the studio and Ben Affleck, the star and director of that movie and the man who will suit up as Batman. Director Zack Snyder's Man of Steel follow-up will be released on July 17th, 2015, with principal photography set to commence in early 2014 in Michigan. David Goyer wrote the screenplay, but the site adds that "sources say Terrio has been brought in to get the script in shape before filming begins." This is without a doubt for the best, especially as Goyer has always been at his strongest when working with more accomplished writers like Christopher Nolan.

Definitely some good news. Also read somewhere that Joaquin Phoenix was also being eyed for a role in the film

Bruh... If Joaquin plays luthor.... :eek

That would be :eek :x

I like that choice way better than Bryan Cranston. Dude played a ruthless villain in Gladiator and the way he had that scary calm would be perfect for Luthor.

Great news all around with the writing additions as well as Phoenix possibly playing Lex.

This may well get WB rolling up alongside Marvel now after all that inactivity regarding a Justice League universe.

I'd fight the whole justice league in my out of shape state to be with Bridget Regan and her scrumptious thighs. Her and the blonde in Legend of the Seeker, cue Antonio Banderas gif.

Disclaimer: This is going to be long and unorganized. May also be interpreted as the ramblings of a pseudo fan boy. Read at your own risk.

The third act ruined, what could have been, the best superhero origin film ever. It's almost as if Zack Snyder became a bizarro Bryan Singer. Nothing but action and special effects. I can accept that in a Michael Bay Transformer's film, but not here. I also can't believe how they completely mismanaged Zod. Michael Shannon is one of the best actors working right now and they wrote squat for him. Matter of fact Supes' fight scene w/ Faora and Namek was far better than the final confrontation through the city.

And for the life of me, I still don't understand why Zod wanted Lois in the ship, other than to be a plot device for their escape. I understand that you don't want a "damsel in distress" Lois Lane, and I get that, but I just couldn't get past it, especially after multiple viewings. What was even more egregious is putting her in the plane for the final mission. I almost laughed in the theater when she couldn't put the "key" into Kal's ship and Emil Hamilton ultimately had to push it in.

Then there's the focus on the air quality. Zod makes a huge deal to Jor-El about not wanting to suffer through adjusting to Earth's atmosphere yet it only takes him less than 24 hours to adjust. They also make it a point to say that Superman can't breathe on the ship for the same reason, yet he can breathe in space after the escape. They also make a point to have Lois wear a breathing apparatus to further their point. In any other Superman film, I could care less, but the fact they made it such a plot point made it irritating when they broke their own rules.

Back to the final battle. I have no qualms with Superman killing Zod. It actually provides an interesting dynamic to this Superman. Killing the only other living Kryptonian (well, there's also that mystery Kryptonian that was vacant from the pod). I'm good with that. What I didn't like was how Superman was so free to crash into buildings. I hate to compare this to Superman II, but there is a poignant moment where Zod realizes Supes' weakness for the human race. Ultimately he decides to kill Zod to save that family, but only after engaging in battle royale that obliterated most of the city.

Even worse, they didn't even reference the destruction at the end of the movie. Matter of fact right after Supes kills Zod, it cuts to a scene where Supes' is being a smart-a to the General and Carol Ferris throws in that joke. I mean, even in the Avengers at least they had the montage of citizens' reaction to the chaos. I'm sure they will address this in the sequel, but at least mention it in this film.

I know a lot of what I mentioned are admittedly "nitpicks," but I just couldn't get past it, espcially after multiple viewings. Ironically, I probably would rate Man of Steel as one of the better superhero films, but in the end, I can only think about its' failed potential

Seriously two of the baddest chicks you'll see. Shame they were wasted on a short lived series that wasn't really that popular. I liked legend of the seeker though.

I only have one major problem with what you said. Zod made a big deal about the atmosphere and adapting because it would take years to adapt. He was able to do it easily because Kal not only told him what to do, but he is also an adult who can comprehend simple commands. A child, however, couldn't. Like when Martha told Clark about how he struggled to breathe as a child because he wasn't used to the atmosphere. It wasn't until he was old enough to listen to simple commands that he learned to focus. It would be the same with all kyrptonians yet to be born on Earth.

Also, he could breath in the ship, he was just rejecting kept ons atmospheric composition. So he was going through a drastic loss of power, which is why he struggled so much. If he couldn't breathe, he would have died unless they gave him a breather.

I just assumed they saw Lois standing with Kal before they got on the ship, which is why they requested her. But who knows?

The destruction is something I have to agree with you about. He just blew up random trains and buildings, but at that point a lot of the city was already destroyed so did it matter that much? I think the point was to show how he was still young and untrained. The product placement got to me though. How many times do you have to blow up the same Sears?

I really liked MOS though, and I bet they will end up with Superman fixing Metropolis and Smallville in the next film. Or like SunshineBlotters said earlier, use it as a plot device to create Lex Luthor's anger towards Superman.

As far as Lois on the ship, given that they could manipulate earth communication I think it's reasonable to assume that the kryp could monitor them as well. From their point of view she was the only other person on earth who knew of his existence (dude put her on blast on national TV). She might have known the location of the codecs which is why they wanted to probe her mind.

I appreciate the final battle more after multiple viewings. I agree the destruction should be a plot point in the sequel (is his presence worth it or he brought this destruction on earth) but I'm not sure what people wanted Supes to do? When two kryptonians go all out like that I expect major destruction. Civilians die in the comics all the time. It's not like DBZ where the villain agrees to fight away from civilians. Zod said he would make every human suffer and given that he probed Clark's mind it's reasonable to assume he was very aware of his affinity for humans.

Adams reassures that for this role, director Zack Snyder will indeed ensure Gadot packs on some muscle. "She is going to be yoked, man. He is going to make her a beast," she says.

She doesn't need to be a beast. Just look capable :lol Keep in mind WW is suppose to have super powers. Nobody ever looks like they can lift a tractor over their head, no matter how many muscles they pack on.
