Probably the same thing all moral elitists want, for him to BEG for forgiveness, apologies will never be enough for these people

who has been asked to "BEG" for forgiveness?

i know michael vick had to do a shh ton beyond his punishment.. and maybe he did alot more than he needed, but he seemed genuinely sorry for what he did and didnt fully appreciate what he was doing

No one's been asked

In the case of of Michael Vick, there are still people that view him in disgust for what he did and he's actually a good example of my comment, nothing this guy does short of begging will redeem him

Its crazy to think about what Aaron brooks said at the time

"they're just dogs man"

he did a horrible thing.. i'm glad that he genuinely seemed contrite for his actions and actually took actions beyond just his punishment

and i could see how he would be viewed as unredeemable to some people, i dont blame them

as he has a family, i hope that he is teaching his children to be better and avoid the mistakes he has made

but vick was able to play football again with multiple teams and he has a job as a commentator now

I think one of the assumptions I disagree with is that purging certain jokes about trans people from the menu of subject comedians can talk about will cause some sort of irreparable harm to the profession.

I would think talented mainstream comedians would adapt, and will also write jokes involving trans people that don't cause an uproar

Like I think this is pretty funny...

This isn't a joke about Trans people

It involves trans people.

Yes the punchline is a young black dude from the South says the n-word a lot. Transgender people and society's response to them, are part of the setup to the joke.

I was saying that I don't care about comedians complaining they can't make offensive jokes about the existence of trans people because it is possible to use their existence in society in jokes without being offensive and causing an uproar.

Not being able to **** on transgender people doesn't take the subject completely off the menu

as i said, i have zero problem with people who have been bullied or teased for far too long in their lives using the power they recently obtained to not entertain shh

given how little i know about their existence and im well aware of how openly society just shh on them and accepted things, i'm cool with them using any power they have to shut that sh down

look at the last thing people thought was cute coming from ed ogeron, him responded to the UCLA fan about his shirt color.. i have zero problem if that community roasted him.. i mean the man got in trouble because he f'd around with the wife of the wrong person, power is power.. aint nothing new

I don’t hate Dave chapelle, don’t think anyone here does

The interesting thing is, Chappelle's fans tune out the nuanced criticism that comes from fans (of all persuasions) who simply see his recent stand ups for what they are (average and ignorant in some parts) and choose to focus on his more vehement critics and the straw men they create (white progressives, cultural elites, etc...) in order to validate their own feelings about "cancel culture."

There's a discussion to be had about losing the edge, but they're not trying to have it.

is there a sumamry of this most recent netflix special? i saw him in vegas a couple months ago and it ended with the dorothy story, i'm assuming it's the same thing?

This post makes no sense

Given my comments, and the joke

OMFG my guy i don't care about your comments on anything at this point.... you posted something where a transgender woman is saying that Dave's jokes are offensive, what was suitable to him was a joke where a black man is using the word *****

I find that hilarious for several reasons, if that's your type of comedy then enjoy fam. But please stop engaging me we have absolutely nothing to discuss

Part the joke funny was clearly NOT appropriate for him to use the n-word at work. That's why it landed, he even points out it bit him in the *** after people stop laughing

You subtweet me, then start the buffoonery when I response

Pathetic

HIM HIM come get your friend

"nuanced criticism"

Really? Is that just another way of saying "I understand suffering in a way that Dave and many others here don't seem to understand" ???

-thank you for the correction

I feel you brah... but the tweet clearly says "about" trans people.

This is just a terrible example... especially coming from that person

Ok, going forward I engage with what you post on NT whenever I feel like it, regardless of what you say
