As a standup comic myself.... This was amazing. I rarely say this about comedy anymore because I’m around it so much. I can understand people who are upset at some of the content. But it was crafted masterfully... AND IT WAS FREAKING FUNNY AF

This is the type of **** that cancel culture has brought about... people think their complaints are more important than they actually are.

so someone forced her to eat the food there?
she stayed, ate the food and then refused to pay. why wouldn't they call the cops?
she wouldn't win in court or with her bank in a claim.
smh. on top of that (no pun) he hasn't been convicted...so...
yeah, she's not getting paid. she def looks like a clown.

Are you insinuating that they made EVERYTHING up?

Of course not. They did meet Michael Jackson, and that train station did exist, albeit in the future.

...oh, and one of them did try to shop a book that nobody wanted to publish, and sue MJ's estate for 1.62 billion days after the statute of limitations for perjury expired. There's alot more. Them dudes lied bruh lol

Honestly idc this is a classic to me

I NEVER like to go back and watch stand ups but i've hit up all my homies to watch this. It was that good

Same. Instant classic in my eyes. If this was released as an HBO special instead of Netflix there wouldn’t even be a debate.

Imagine laughing at "offensive" jokes to one group and then getting upset at joke towards another. You might as well listen to safe comedy if you get offended easily

Does the joke not count for anything?

Are there not good jokes and bad jokes?

Delivery?

Messenger?

Michael Richards' famous racist outburst was in a comedy club

What Michael Richards did wasn't comedy. He had a full blown racist meltdown because he didn't know how to deal with hecklers which is Standup Comedy 101.

LOL. The problem with a lot of these social media activists is that a lot of them aren't legit. They're conmen/conwomen. She should have filed a complaint, left the restaurant. But if she was served she has to pay. But the first mistake here wasn't even the R. Kelly music. It was that she was eating at disgusting *** Applebees. At least go to Dallas BBQ ***.

You THINK they lied.

I DONT KNOW if they lied or not. I don't think that's the point either, because none of us know what exactly happened, only they do.

That being said, out of the things we do know, we DO KNOW that Mike was 30 years old having dates and cuddling sessions with underaged boys. We DO KNOW that he built an entire amusement park in part for them. That we do know.

Thread isn't about Mike so I won't derail, but it's insane to me that a 30 year old who cuddles with minors can get the benefit of the doubt here. If your son or daughter was hanging out with a 30 year old and having slumber parties with him,....nvm :rollin

I can find humor in things I don't agree with. I didn't agree with everything Chapelle said, but he was funny.

I can't for the life of me, understand how people willingly watch comedians then play mad about the content on stage. Like, people are flat out playing dumb. You know the aesthetic of a comedian, especially one of Dave Chapelle's elk. You know what's coming. HE'S A COMEDIAN.

The fake outrage is insane. Why we continue to put moral compasses on celebrities that we don't know will never not be wild to me, ESPECIALLY comedians. Context matters. A Comedian saying these things in a funny manner should not cause a stir to me but whatever lol

This is theft.

I had a get together at my place the other day and i half way through i put on r Kelly to see if anyone would object bc i kinda wanted the debate. Sure enough the person that i expected to say something spoke up talking about he is cancelled blah blah blah. She is a huge cardi fan so i asked her if we should cancel cardi since she admitted to drugging and robbing men. She couldn't do anything but laugh.

People just want to cancel what they feel some type of connection to. Other stuff they know is heinous but it just isn't a sensitive spot for them.

"Half the people in here have been molested before...." Followed by a joke is a tad too far imo.

If you can insinuate that there was " dating and cuddling with young boys" going on, and an amusement park was built for them, even though none of that has ever been confirmed as fact, and none of us know what exactly happened, we're all free to believe the opposite, even though taped depositions directly contradicting certain events in a "documentary" filmed less than 2 months later exist...nvm

As far as I'm concerned, Dream Hampton can forever eat a bag of dicks for accusing Nas of using ghostwriters on the Untitled album. She was popping off on Twitter cause she was salty that a random person asked her about Jay using ghostwriters. She dragged Nas' name in the dirt and claimed to have heard reference tracks. Nothing ever surfaced. If you're going to make claims like that, back it up.
:eek that’s the same chick? Fuh da bish

Just watched.

I liked it. Wife was not a fan. I can see where she's coming from, but feel like we were watching it through 2 different lenses.

The LGBT car bit was funny as hell though. We were both in agreement on that.

Nah.

Bill Burr knows how to nail black jokes.

Katt Willaims is so good with white jokes.

Dave killed it with the Cosby jokes.

Remember when George Lopez tried his hand at it?

Nah, not all jokes about race, sex, and religion are told correctly.

I'm not giving that blanket coverage to comedians.
That just means the comedian isnt funny.

The whole point is the idea of blanket coverage is ridiculous. They're comedians. Their intent is to be funny. Not to offend.

George Lopez is a trash comedian.

Show me the comedian that is purposely trying to offend ppl and not be funny.

I mean even conservative right wing coemdians don't even do that.

:rollin @ thinking you can go out to eat, sit and eat your food and just cuz you complained about the music being offensive you don't have to pay for your meal.

Cancel culture think they're slick. If you were that offended you wouldve walked out immediately.

I dont know about classic yet but this is the only comedy special I've watched twice in 1 day in years.

Too funny.

I am thinking now it'd be hilarious if Dave tried to spin that and say it was all a part of Michael's act :lol
Can we agree that outrage and not liking the joke is not the same?
Sure but if you cant tell the differenfe between the two its probably more so fake outrage.
