Pimps dont pay taxes goin on right now.

Kanye has showed me one thing.... if you call yourself a genius long enough people will start to believe it. I am a Kanye fan but as a writer he lyrics dont come across a man that is a genius or even a well educated person. As a producer he list of beats aren't as long as Timberland, Pharrell, and Swiss.

Kanye has ranted enough to elevate himself while guys like Pharrell who are soft spoken been making songs, beats, clothes, and designing shoes for years aren't proclaimed a genius because he doesn't tell people he is and selects to let his art/work speak for themselves.

I wish for Kanye to get better and hope him the best in the future but I can't rock with all the genius and iconic talk. I will agree he is very influential and I admire his drive because he was deterimind to be successful. But when you look at the artist history there are many people who have done or made more impact than Kanye but are lost in the weeds because they don't self promote themselves.

Sounds similar to another genius that was so under-appreciated, Steve Jobs. Yes there is more than your fair share of flaws but the genius is there. Pharrell is much more subdued but he also works with other talented individuals (Nigo, Hugo) where as with Knaye he frontruns for all of his own projects. And he clearly is much more versatile - he's been proven to only produce the highest of quality designs. His ideas are very hit-or-miss but when he connects, GENIUS LEVEL. @troyd Agree???

Top 5 Producers
Swizzy
Neptunes
Timbo
Ye (huge commercial songs ie, Run This Town, Runaway, IZZO)

you think that was an actual freestyle? off the top of the noodle? not a chance.

we all heard son freestyle on Big Boy...it was tragic.

i mean he was just singing in auto tune about being famous

it wasn't really double entendres or something that deep or hard to come up with on the spot if you've been rapping for the majority of the time you've been alive

but then again it also could have been an unreleased song he performed neither of us really know

and that's how most people who aren't professional freestylers (like Los) sound if they are REALLY going off the top

Your favorite early 2000's hot 97 or rap city freestyle was written too...

Covert Coupe is one of my favorite mixtapes of all time. Dont forget Carollton Heist with Curren$y, Rare Chandeliers with Action Bronson & Masterpiece Theatre with Willie The Kid

Also Harry Fraud is great producer as well

Producers Better Than Kanye Appreciation Thread? 8o

Considering this came out in '97, you gotta think just how ahead of the times Timbaland was when he dropped this banger....beat is INSANE.

Mannie fresh, Timbaland and Three 6 Mafia were doing the foundations of today's sound 20 years ago

My top 5 is

Mannie Fresh
Zaytoven
Kanye West
Pharrell
Timbaland

Honorable mention to 40. Might take over Timbaland's spot because post 2006, Timbaland's had maybe 10 or less bears ive liked,
