I searched for the fitness thread but couldn't find it. I wanted to know what some of your thoughts on crossfit training are. I workout at a traditional gym regularly but I'm looking for something more. I can feel myself gaining strength but I would like to improve performance and conditioning to enhance my pickup game. I'm not looking to have two monthly memberships so is it possible to get both style workouts doing crossfit?
 
$*+$ is no joke... after about 6 months of crossfit, I was in the best overall shape of my life, at age 30.
 
Really? I miss the sweat of a really hard practice and lifting weights at the gym has become monotonous. What kind of activity do you do in cross fit?
 
Usually it is olympic lifts with running and core thrown in.
An average work out is called a WOD (work out of the day).  You either sign up for a crossfit gym which is very expensive or you can Google search a crossfit establishment and follow their regimen aka WODs.  I get my WODs from crossfitrebels.com out of Florida.
 
just google/youtube it... the workouts are a nice change from your traditional gym lifting.  you really build a nice camaraderie with people at crossfit gyms, too.
don't worry, you'll sweat your balls off.

doing burpees til you puke will make you miss hard practices and lifting weights.
