Cool Kicks !

people just dont care about nikes and jordans anymore besides the old heads. most people these days wear adidas sambas and asics

I watch alot of sneaker resale content on YouTube for the last 3 or 4 years and I'm not seeing the shift to sambas and asics

Nike and Jordan got too many classic silhouettes to ever have any strong competition. The Yeezys were the shoe/brand I've ever seen come up in the conversation as competition.

The resale market of people is nothing against the general population. I don’t know if the resale market is shrinking as a whole, but from my perspective is not nearly what it was a decade ago

dude, youre watching videos that target a specific audience of people who are old heads still wearing nikes and jordans.

gen z and younger aint wearing jordans bred 11  theres a reason why UNC jordan 1 are sitting at footlocker.

most young(er) people arent wearing jordans and nikes like that. they're wearing adidas and onitsuka tigers or any other shoes just like those.

if anything, even those are starting to be phased out.

also to add,

trends change. in 2000s and 2010s, rappers and athletes were who teenagers and young adults at that time were looking at as inspo.

now, no one is looking at a rapper or athlete for styling. the biggest fashion rapper is now looked at as a crazy mental racist (Kanye). that whole "SWAG" era is dead.

with social media, people are looking towards influencers, kpop idols, Japanese streetwear, and high-end niche designers for inspiration now.

ex. chrome hearts been popping in Asia since the mid 2000s. only a few years ago did it now carry over to mainstream US.

Also, the rep market.

I see in the reddit thread about sneakers some are straight up buying reps or grey market with no issue and many egging them on saying they don't blame them.

A lot of hyped up stuff lost its luster and once that exclusivity and status as having a high figured item fades then the posers and fakers will move onto something else they can get attention for.

Exactly, I need high tops to trend again because Solo Flight ‘90s, Air Command Forces, Air Force 180s, and Air Revolutions. Nike has so many silhouettes to choose from.

wasnt Cool kicks Nice Kicks in the past???

if so Nice Kicks sold a ton of fakes back in the day they need to get them next if they still operating

Pawn shops get in trouble for buying stolen goods. Do these shoe shops have the same rules and laws that they do?

When people say this. I wonder where you live and do you go outside. A lot of you seem to repeat stuff they see on the internet. Because Gen Z is buying Jordans.

Nobody looks towards what people are wearing in Iowa.

The economy is bad. Everything is down.

You do realize you are too, right?

My information isn't from YouTube. It's from living in the fashion capital.

Explore the world, you're the one who said that ridiculous comment.

and if you're in New York you would see Jordans and see people lined up for Jordans. What are the black people, Puerto Ricans, Dominicans wearing in the city? Some Sambas? Exactly.

People in Iowa are buying Sambas. People who go see Taylor Swift. People who were just wearing dirty Uptowns. That's not sneaker culture and never has been.

Here we go with that "Jesus-was-from-Queens" ****. It aint just rap music, NYC isn't what it used to be, but yall won't let it go.

They are wearing jordans but Nike and Jordan don’t have a grip over the market like they used to. It’s not the same. Nike falling stocks are proof. Other brands have all grown regardless of the economy.

That's not proof. The economy is bad, and tariffs have affected the stock market.

What exactly is up right now? People dining out is down, is that Nike's fault? No, people are cutting back.

I've been on this board for 20 years, and everything is cyclical. These discussions are repetitive and nothing new. When Yeezy was popping it was Nike and Jordan were dead and Yeezy jumped over the Jumpman. Boost is life. Everyone loves comfort.

Other sneaker brands have always existed and been worn. It's been periods when Jordans sat on shelves. It's nothing new.

A lot of people bring these resell and lame regurgitated discussions to NT.
