Contrasts between East Asian vs. South-East Asians in America (both male and females)

Sorta inspired from this thread about asian women

There is a preconceived notion from back in the day that Asian=Chinese. Probably & more than likely has to do with the influx of Mainland Chinese folks that came to America in the late 1800s, early 1900s.

East Asia includes: Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Mainland China, Macau

Are South East Asians better at English than East Asians. Not talking about the ones that were born here or practically grew up here.

It's just that most of the East Asians that i meet, they tend to stick to their own group, and they have trouble with English. Viets and Filipinos will stick together too, but they have less or no language barrier.

Going back to the Asian Women thread linked above. Even there, there was mention of South East Asians are more receptive of black and latin men than East Asians whom want the white men to climb the proverbial social ladder

I don't know .. Can't really judge that.

Chinese, Japanese, and Filipinos are more assimilated IMO tho.

I am Taiwanese, but my Asian friends come from a variety of backgrounds. Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese .. it really just depends on the neighborhood you grew up in.

I wouldn't say that East Asians are any less receptive than blacks/latinos.

which ones are the "stupid ones." I understand you can't classify a region as stupid, but some of these (which I can't differentiate) people are dumb as hell.

When you go to costco to pump gas and save an entire two cents per gallon, have your card out and ready to go. You were in line for at least 15 minutes, you had time. Didn't pull it out before walking up to the pump? Fine, don't take three whole minutes finding the card in your wallet. It's a wallet, it has like 10 compartments, MAX.

Also, when you're changing lanes, look in your damn mirrors, all of them. Look over your shoulder, it's what you're supposed to do. Don't just turn the wheel as you turn your head.

Once again I don't mean to classify a region, but as a Mexican I can tell you which ones are the stupid ignorant ones. I suppose you can do the same with Asians.

There were a lot of Asians in my high school of certain nationalities that smoked pot all the time, used the n word in every sentence, and ended up going to community college and not doing anything afterwards. I won't say which though. There were also other nationalties of east Asians who loaded up on AP classes and went to elite colleges.

South East Asians (minus Indian subcontient) are usually pretty cool with blacks, Filipino's being the most friendly.

Malaysians seem pretty cool too. Currently one of my best friend's are Malaysians.

Indian dude's tend to be like white people with brown skin for the most part.

Filipino's are basically family as far as asians go.  Srs.

Thai girls (the one's that are actually girls)..that backside.. WOO

the asians are bad drivers thing is more cultural than race related. an asian raised in the US will learn to drive like every other american but growing up in china i still get scared when in a car on chinese streets, its just different over there and i would say that because of all of the mess drivers in china are actually really good drivers

By stereotypes East and South Asians are more educated than SE Asians in this country

You see way more Korean doctors and much more Filipina nurses than vice versa for example
