Common Myths That Still Persist.

None of those are myths, though.

Oh, though.

Seems like a lot of people think these things are true, so what qualifies as a myth?

EDIT:

Never mind, I found it.

Myth: a widely held but false belief or idea.

what.....
Alot of people I kno think that Bananas grow on banana trees(wooden tree) but they actually grow from a banana plant.. The trunk isn't wood at all its a perennial herb.
guess that makes sense, I did think those plants they grew from we like mini trees but you're right, they're not made of wood.

OJ Simpson did do it.

Shaving your hair makes it grow back faster.

The gov is of the people, by the people, for the people. We look at Washington and decide that's what the government is, but it's not some faceless machine in dc, that's the tip, the government is the random offices staffed by the people in your community. Both parents, lots of friends, lots of friends parents etc. they are the government, not some favelas building but the people that push the papers.

Hard work always 'pays off.' Need to figure out what it means to 'pay off'

Myth: Male pattern baldness comes from your Mother's side of the family.

How is "we are alone in the universe" a well known myth? No one I know says no matter what their religious beliefs are. Religious people have God, agnostics have something, even atheists believe in extraterrestrials.

It's a myth for like the 18th century and going back from there. Most of the other stuff aren't myths either.

A myth isn't simply a belief.
