You need to open your eyes and a book!
That’s the only thing you choose to pay attention to is the NFL issue. Blacks have been protesting forever for injustice. You sound stupid!!!

and the thing that has caused national headlines over the past few days........ HAS NOTHING TO DO with any injustice, the injustice has been tossed to the side as usual. So people could argue over Jay vs Kap & activism vs capitalism. ****** just wanna get their witty tweets off & some think pieces to up their cache & then turn it into dollars. Not really making a change.

Jay Z the hypocrite

He’s never stood on the side of black people. All he’s ever done is profit off of it, but you keep buying what he’s selling though

This is just as dumb as the people hating on kaep, both of them have done plenty for black people, neither are our saviors. I feel bad for people still looking for a savior.

And like I said in another thread about that Barneys fiasco

“So jay was supposed to drop the Barneys deal cause shoppers got racially profiled?

Black people still proudly watch the NFL every week
Black people still eat at Pizza Hut and papa johns
Black people still proudly rock Gucci
Black people still shop and h&m
Black people stilll go to starbucks

Etc....

Social media wants celebs want to be martyr just to turn on them the second they do something you don’t agree with

If you rich & black in America you either gotta be Huey P Newton or you a sellout and against black people :lol:.

I gotta remember that a lot of these people having this conversation are the same crowd that displayed their "pro blackness" by supporting a fictional black superhero... created by a very white company. Not to mention the same ones who claimed that Kanye wearing a dumbass hat was gonna be detrimental to the black community & sway young blacks to support Donald Trump

this whole era is a TRIP G:lol:
No you don’t!
If you are despicable enough to try and monetize black plight then you should be called out.
Quit getting your information from Facebook and Twitter because you sound dumb!

Oh they weren’t supporting the white company. They were supporting the black director, cast, writers who were doing something that had never been done! Showing Hollywood a major motion picture with all black actors and actresses could be just as successful. It’s called black pride! You should try it

so where the heck do you stand?

I stand on making logical decisions and not trying to banish someone from their blackness because they have a difference in opinion from me. That is the issue right now, everyone feels like they gotta choose a side as if there's no middle ground, as if it's not possible to say i don't like that someone did this, but i do support them on this.

that divide has ended every prominent black organization (thoroughly helped by government interference in most cases) & yet we still sit there & feel like we gotta shun the other side for trying to get results by different means.

Who writes those national headlines? It damn sure isn’t black people!
Who do you think controls the narrative in the media?
They steer the conversation in whatever direction benefits them. The media isn’t interested in understanding really why black people aren’t on board with Jay Z or the NFL.
Kap not having a job is an injustice in itself!!!
How do you not understand being on the wrong side of that is a problem for black people?
I encourage you to read about propaganda during civil rights era.

Exactly, the protest was about injustice not the NFL, issues we've been extremely vocal and passionate about. Everyone seems to be discrediting all of the efforts that have been going on, from rallies to lobbying for independent review on officers. People keep trying to change the narrative to make it about the NFL to ruin the message, when the point was to bring awareness to issues off the field. I think Kaep did a spectacular job, as he ignited a movement that put a spotlight on police brutality. It's a shame that people are using his settlement with his employer (a private company that has nothing to do to with fixing social injustice) to undermine everything he's started.

Yeah! How about showing racial injustice is more important than making a buck.

How about not selling out your heritage and history for a business deal.

How about showing respect to all the black people who died so he could even walk in that store.

How about having just an ounce of integrity and conviction in something other than yourself.

He was quick to call out black people not supporting Tidal because it’s black owned but you have the nerve to sit here and criticize those people he’s trying to exploit for his own personal gain gtf*h!!!

As always Uncle Shannon ( and Eric Dickerson ) is always on point!

And to be fair, I don't agree with the crew on Speak for Yourself but I gotta respect their counterpoint. Marcellus is wack tho for trying to discredit Colin's actions because of his mixed race

he wasn't da only person reporting those deals...even da Cuban cat on ESPN couldn't cosign da Castro shirt.
of course he wouldn't but you know that and you know why.
i'm 100% sure that you know why kaep wore that shirt in the first place too.

In other news...

49ers Jimmy Garoppolo's first preseason game back couldn't have gone much worse

Last week’s story that San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo threw five straight interceptions in practice was an oddity, kind of funny, but nothing all that serious.

It seemed more serious after watching Garoppolo struggle in a big way against the Denver Broncos on Monday night.

Garoppolo, playing his first game since tearing his ACL last season, misfired on his first five passes before completing a screen pass for no gain. He threw one interception and a sure pick-six was dropped. His final rating was 0.0.

But tell me more about how Kaep isnt good enough to play...

I'm not black nor a fan of Jay Z, but I've seen Jay Z do a lot for black people throughout the world. Whether he did it for publicity or not is a different topic, but there is definitely evidence of him doing so over the past few decades

I don't think it's fair to label someone a "Sellout" just because his methods of helping his community are different than yours. The intention is still the same

He's not on Kanye's level of going around telling people "slavery was a choice"

jay is about himself. he was then and it appears he is now.
that's fine but why mask the intention under you doing something for the ppl?
its the reason some of us feel that he's a sell out. you're not really for the ppl if you have to move like a snake and crush the next man to get to the top and you're not doing it for us, just be honest.

we don't want to be used and we don't want the wool pulled over our eyes either.

his tactics are in line with our suppressors IMO.
his body language and the condescending tone and the smirks and all that are in line with our oppressors.

not trying to attack you or anything...when I say the following:

you aren't black. you aren't going to understand certain things from a black perspective. there's history to take into context and reasons for the skepticism and the labelling.
we have a history of having ppl that so called speak for us all being used against us to comfort our oppressors while we get nothing.
we also have a history of ppl that supposedly speak for us that go after the lime light and the money while we get nothing.
we have a history of infiltration and getting duped/the short end of the stick/etc.

intent and agenda are two words that ppl should be thinking about. jay is slick and has been slick. i'm sure more details will leak but he looks funny in the light.

This is the type of stuff we need to see from our top black athletes.

I feel you and others need to stop putting it on athletes and other famous people. Why can’t people like you ever work to get to this level to these same things?

Stop looking at athletes and entertainers as people who are about black freedom and black upliftment. Most of them are in business for their selves and their pockets. That doesn't meant they don't care about black issues and black people, but its not their main agenda.

"Sidenote" by this logic the same needs to be applied to Umar Johnson.

Also shouts to Kap for actually speaking up... but i'm pretty sure the SMALL progress that was made in regards to trying to punish police brutality and bring light to it, was moreso because black people all across the country marched and fought on the ground while weekly another killing by the cops was publicized all through the media.

Players kneeling in the NFL is at the bottom of the list in terms of what little progress was made. all Kap's kneeling did was thrust the convo into sports, where people completely ignored the police brutality part & went on a two year spree of him being unpatriotic & possible racism in the NFL, which was never the issue in the first place.

Colin's & his peers idea was to use their celebrity to shine light on police brutality
Jay's idea is to use his celebrity & the NFL's money & reach to fund programs in the black community... At some point awareness ain't enough, awareness don't mean **** to people who's intention is to ignore & even wish for it.

Both methods can bring results, neither should interfere with one another. However we've been conditioned to think that capitalism and activism can't mix... when in reality most of the important black movements in the past needed funding from capitalist & rich people to get things done. You don't have to be struggling & clear of all material items to also help others.

the only way i could see someone being mad at Jay-Z is if they believe it's his duty to try & fix all of black americas ills & if that's the case you were delusional from the jump.

I think 100 black millionaires can get a lot more done than one black billionaire. Y'all really think Jay-z wealth gonna trickle down lol.

These sellouts bargain for the crumbs smh.
Jay Z the biggest face on these deals, the least paid.

Byron Allen is a black billionaire btw

Black people are too busy trying to be rich and being comfortable in white supremacy. Rich black people dont impress me, Im impressed by black people who put their people first regardless of how much money they have.

Smh at Byron Allen (plus he married to a Becky useless)

You know the only reason Beyonce fine to most of y'all cause she close enough to a Becky.

You could just as easy be called out. You got plenty photos with Becky's. Should we discredit you?
