Rose has already excelled in the playoffs though

Watch out for the Bulls. I didn't think this way before the season started but the way we've played with one of our top 3 players always down is a great sign. Besides the Heat, the Bulls shouldn't be an underdog to any team in the East, imo.

Well, this thread sucks now. You guys could have continued this silver and bronze discussion in a number of other threads.

This thread shall suffice. It wasn't going anywhere anyways, just like the Hornets and CP3.

Lulz. Anyways, CP3 is still the best PG in the NBA. Felt that way before the season started and don't see anything to change my mind. Others have climbed into the elite category but aren't approaching CP3's 07-08 and 08-09 seasons, the gold standard right now. He was robbed in 07-08.

Let's talk about the 07-08 MVP race now.

Why the Heat though?  Boston could take Chicago especially if Boozer isn't 100% and they still don't have a two guard.  What team that plays the style of uptempo offensive driven basketball that the Heat play have ever won the chip BTW?

I think the Heat at full strength are a really bad match-up for the Bulls. Who will guard Wade???

edit: Or Bron for that matter? We have great team defense but in one-on-one situations, our SG's and SF's get eaten alive.
I'm not sure the Heat will win the 'chip but I do believe they would beat the Bulls in a 7 game series.

BOS/CHI series would be a toss-up, IMO.

The 8 assists a game is very misleading.

Honest question...what's the difference between the 8apg Iverson put up and Rose's?

Because honestly he's looking to put his players in scoring positions and does it much more often then that number suggest, while Chuck was passing out of necessity because he couldn't get a shot off. If you're watching the games then you know that 8 could/should easily be 10-11 where it not for all the times Luol has missed completely uncontested 3's from the wing, Kieth Bogans misses 3's from everywhere or just doesn't shoot the ball period, or the times Kyle doesn't shoot, or the time Taj misses wide open 17 footers or just drops the pass.  He's constantly creating offensive opportunities and open shots for him teammates, now whether or not they finish is a completely different story.

Get out of here with this bull. Every player who dominates the ball has the opportunity to average more assists if his teammates made more shots. What, you think A.I. only passed the ball those 8 times per game? Honestly, nobody was coming in here diminishing Rose's game. He is the bread and butter of the team so naturally, he takes precedence over others getting shots. Again, I don't get to watch many Bulls games, but I've actually seen quite a few this year, including the Christmas day game when I was live in attendance. The Bulls would have been blown out had it not been for Rose (and Boozer) because no one else could buy a bucket. I used to say the same thing watching A.I.

I'm not sure how to respond because I'm not sure if you're intelligent or not after reading that post....

1st and foremost I'm not one of these Johnny come lately basketball fans who doesn't know the game/hasn't watched basketball for more than 5yrs so you should know that first when make statements like the one above.  Double asked for a comparison between him and pooh and thats what I did, and I wasn't off base.  As far as ball dominating player he's the PG he's supposed to dominate the ball and give it to people in scoring position which is what he does way more than what is shown by his numbers which is what I said.  As far as him taking shots if you watch the game he does it when the team is stagnant or we NEED to score, he's not out there putting up shots just cause he can. He scores because he has to, as those of us who watched him night in and night out can attest to he's just as fine shooting 7-8 shots getting 10-14 pts as he is putting up 20 getting 30. He attempts to create offense for others all the time while doing it for himself. He does what the team needs at that time which is what a PG/Lead player's supposed to do.

I've been watching Iverson hoop since his frosh year at Gtown when he missed the floater and Othello Harrington was there for the put back. I've literally watched his entire career so I'm not just speaking upon what I heard or what I read from stats.  Allen rarely ever had the mentality of let me set up my teammates/get them in a rthym he went out and carried his squad the best way he could/he knew how by attempting to score. We're talking about a player who said "If they were to move me to the 2 I'd lead the league in scoring" His main objective was to score passing was a distant 2nd.  He would get assist due to teams collapsing on him and him finding people, not because he was setting him up. Two totally different things who are you attempting to fool?

I didn't even want to take it here, I said I wasn't taking it here... These... I need to practice better self control.

It's sarcasm, but Chris Paul DOES get by on reputation.

John Wall is pretty much doing the same thing he is doing ... but you don't hear people saying he's the best PG in the league.

Other than the "amount of games won" look at Wall's stats.
15PPG, 9APG ... compared to Paul's 16PPG & 9APG.

Once again, you guys are going on Paul's reputation, not what he's putting up.

Wall is playing with a bunch of meh players, and Paul has decent players around him.

Ummm... have you even looked at either team's roster?
