Took the train out to see a concert a while back. When people tap their card to pay, I noticed that the gate remains open for about a second which is plenty of time. When my wife tapped her card, I followed closely behind so I basically rode for free.

Not being cheap but along the same lines of a scheme

Had jury duty recently and when I got there I couldn’t find anywhere to park so I just left and then a few days later I called to reschedule it. Got my new date in the mail then like a week later they said it got cancelled

Second time in a row I’ve done that. The last time I did it was in like 2017 and I didn’t get called up until recently. Hopefully it’s like that again

I forgot how my wife got out of it. It was something with her health she said.

They never call me but I couldn’t go anyways.

was a case about some dude using topical acne medication that was incorrectly prescribed or something

they asked if anyone couldnt participate due to bias etc
told them I had acne as a teen, I think Id have a bias in this case

That’s a good one.

I’d do it but asking someone to miss pay in 2025 is crazy. Like yeah if you paid me the same as my job sure. But I only work 7 months out of the year so I need to make it count. I’m not working for peanuts for a non pre determined time.

When I first got hit with jury duty about a month after I hit 18, I threw the letter to the side and told myself I’d handle it later. Well, I completely forgot about it and after the trial had passed, I got another letter saying since I missed the trial, I will have to attend another one. When I called the courthouse, the lady on the other end of the phone asked me for my reasoning for missing the trial and I made up some excuse that I was out of town. She said, “You’re back in town now, right? You’re going to have to attend this one.” I just said ok, whatever and hung up. A few days later, I called again and I got that same lady (I recognized her voice) and when she asked me what my excuse was, I said, “I’m going to be honest, I completely forgot about it.” She said, “Ok, no problem. You’re excused.” I couldn’t believe it.
