That’s not it. Some of us just don’t like Dunks. I never liked Dunks at any period of time in my life. I never understood the hype about them, other than the limited models. They always looked like an unfinished prototype Air Jordan 1, before the final version was executed. I grew up around people who love them, but you’ll never catch a pair on my feet. I just don’t the design and execution of them. Jordan 1,s all day over here though.

The hype only started in the late '90s and then the early '00s when they used the silhouette in the Nike SB catalog.

A lot of the shoes in the '80s looked similar - I believe the AJ 1 was a re-tooled Dunk High.

I stand by what I said earlier about the Dunk shape been messed up for the past decade.

Check the OG shape:

I had my period with Dunks and they still have a place in my heart but I’ve never “outgrown” Air Jordan 1’s. They’re so sleek and the remastered retros have been a pleasant surprise but some SB Pee Wee Herman highs though are getting copped again. Always one of my favorite shoes

ooof. for me the best 1 is either the AF or the AM

I would say the 90 or 1 is the most versatile shoe ever, for me at least. I can wear it with anything unlike the AJ1 which Im not a fan of with shorts due to not being the tallest guy.

As far as dunks/SBs thats what got me into collecting heavy so I'll always be fond of them but some of them were way too bulky, especially the mids with the strap.
