Dude he was 21 what you expect, like someone said he chose to be in a bubble. His music wasn't even on YouTube and that's these kids generation go to

Yeah, his classic hits would get played on the radio once in a while but I don't remember him having recent hits. Plus it was rare to see him on tv or do tv performances.

I'm 20 and I only know about Prince because my mom is a huge Prince fan so I know the entire 1999 album by heart but if it wasn't for her I probably have heard any of it he dropped albums consistently but you pretty much had to already be in the know after a certain point
