Never understand why people flex for the internet.

To get a sense of belonging/accomplishment. I guess it would be the feeling of being the big man on campus online.

I feel bad for this generation (born in 1985 here). It's always a competition with everything and never feeling content/satisfied.

When I was a kid, I just played Sega Genesis and shoot hoops with the kids around my home after school. I was happy with what I had, never felt I needed to show off to anyone.
PREACH.  My little bro (just turned 20) constantly feels like he's failing at life because he isn't doing it like the dudes he follows on IG.  Had to pull him aside and remind him that he got a GED a year ago.

So glad I grew up when I did.  At 20, I was a broke college student living off tips and Pell grants.  But if I had $50 in my pocket and beer/cigarettes for the night, I felt like a million bucks.  AND I still pulled 'em even with my broken down 626.

It's not hard to understand. People like getting props, some people don't care whether it's for a legit reason or not.

I've never been the type to fake the funk. I'm a habitual truth teller tho. It hurts me to have to lie about anything

Alot of dudes trying to be doing it big on credit and want the lifestyle without putting the work in to obtain it.

Its just Instagram and I could care less what people do. Some on there are actually doing it some are faking the funk but its kinda like real life in a sense where alot of people live above their means or try to portray and image I guess you can say.

internet fame is a thing that lots of people want these days, its crazy :{

just like those "x number of RT's and i'll" kind of tweets, its just zzzzzzzz

You gotta be crazy to feel good after posting some fake stuff on IG. If I posted fake Superbowl pics and ended up watching it at home, I'd feel like an idiot.

Real life isn't all that sometimes, but people on all these social media platforms want to act like they are balling.

Be proud of what you have and hustle for what you want.

It is what it is, IG is full of lames, but there are LOTS of accounts worth the follow, full of inspiration for other artists, specially photographers, maybe is because I'm a photographer I feel as tho IG was God sent, joint is easily the best advertising tool for my work AND is free! Those of you complaining simply ain't using it right or it simply doesn't fit your lifestyle...just this passed weekend, NewYork.com and ShakeShack organized an instameet, about 140 IGers showed up, all ages and races, pro photogs and dudes with iPhones, I met a couple of cool people and had a blast...there was even 2 dogs who have huge IG accounts present, it was really dope

Besides lying, I hate when I see accounts with bought followers and they feel superior and above others :{
People have 1000 "followers" and like 10 likes. That's what people do to feel accepted and act like they are something special. At least try buying likes as well to make it look real lol

Yeah to me is all about an engaged audience, people you can actually chat with, most of the people I follow that follow me are some sort of photographer, so there is plenty of love to go around...I follow some dumpster accounts of dudes who post nothing but memes because I can't front, is a good laugh..,lol

No FB, no IG, no Smartphone, I'm still in the dark ages

Nah. Don't wanna put anyone on blast.

But some people man. :lol :{

I only follow the 50 or so people I know and kick it with in real life and put up group pics of us, or I put up funny *****@ I see on the internet/real life. I constantly have lames trying to clown me for not following 300+ people like they do though. There's no way in hell you're friends with that many people

I went to a baseball game with my friend (former friend at the moment) who was on IG the WHOLE time and kept talking about "bruh I'm getting hella likes, I'm hella famous on Instagram". So god damn irritating! I told him "shut up, just watch the game man" and he kept talking about it over and over

Something like that is a cool side of Instagram and hell the Internet altogether. Totally unrelated but I went to some 49er fan event organized online to watch a playoff game in NYC a few years back and was just cool to have a bunch of random strangers meet up, chop it up over a game and have a good time.

Photography wise, you post some cool pics on ig though mane :hat

IG is what you make of it and it depends on who you follow.

scrolling through a bunch of memes with a million filters on it
