Casino (The Movie) Appreciation Post

Help me figure out why I've tried to watch this movie FIVE times this week and never got past the first 20 minutes. It just seems so... cheesy/campy. Like, the whole tone seems underdone. I can't explain it, but I just can't connect with this movie. Some one please talk me into giving a camn, cereally.

The desert meeting might be my favorite scene in any movie.  The build up, ace's narration, the reflection in ace's shades, and nicky's whole rant were all perfect.

I go back and forth a lot, but for now, Casino is Scorsese's masterpiece (Goodfellas & Raging Bull are tied for 2nd)

- Yeah.
At the most, which is impossible, for him. Plus, at the most, three suits, $1000 a piece. That still leaves what?

Whenever I know someone's lying to me, I try breaking down their argument with this scene in mind.

Someone said there 2 favorite movies are Casino and Paid in Full.  That is just an abomination to think they are even close.  I rarely recognize when people are excellent actors, as I do notice in Casino.  On the flip side I rarely notice bad acting.  But when I watch Paid in Full I grimace in complete embarrassment about the HORRIFIC acting.  What a complete insult to Scorsese to compare one of his movies to Paid in Full.  Some where along the lines of, "My favorite players are Jordan and Shawn Bradley".
