My man your total student loans is probably your salary ceiling, that's tough, that sounds like a prison. Def get a roommate though.

Move out.. You're making 60k a year..
repped.'13 grad
moved out last Fall
when I say "moved out" I mean out of my parents house and my home state and relocated 3k miles away
and I did that making less than 1/4 of your salary (yes you read that right)
you can do whatever the **** you wanna do brother
Only if you care about having any kind of security in your future. Otherwise, YOLO~~~?!?!My question is do you need to save money?
does not compute, especially when Clarendon practically IS the city...unless you absolutely need the car to get to work if your office is in the boonies somewhere
I just bought a brand new 2013 Civic for a great price and I love it. No way I'm getting rid of it at the moment.
And I should've clarified. I'm looking to live in the Clarendon VA area. 1200 total for rent can land you a pretty good 2 bedroom pad. I'm looking for a spot with a roommate. If I have 400-500 to spend a month outside of bills, I think I can make it work.
half my friends that i went to school with either moved to or immediately near that area he is looking at...only two that i know of have cars because they work way out away from that area...Man. I feel him.I don't need a car. I had my license revoked for a year and got around fine. But screw public transit. You don't want to be on their time. Plus it kills your game with the broads. Telling them to pick you up isn't fun.
Get some side income coming in

the transit coming to and going from that area is VERY reliable and there is a VERY high concentration of higher income individuals that don't drive, lots of women included...
also parking in those areas is usually an extra, but again...his money and prerogative
But all times had turmoil.

It's always bad, it always will be. But, if you have it in you, you can make it. Be strategic, do your thing, don't make me no never mind. But, don't tell me 'I have to' 'I can't move out' admit, you like the comfort, you like the safety, you like the security; you like those more than the pride of paying your own rent, more than the pride of saying 'this is mine.'
Firm believer in the 'you can do whatever you set your mind to' I understand at a system level, people may be screwed, but on the personal level there is very little that can stand in your way, especially if you have parents you can/would want to live with. No excuse for the middle class. No excuse for the college educated. (Barring earlier exceptions).
The American dream I've bought into is 'work hard, prosper and freedom is the only goal of man, I am a man.'
Aight here are the numbers im looking at: i have about 9k saved up. Been recently buying a lot of cloths and flyknits but i need to cut that out.
Income: Im taking home 3400$ a month.
Ill be paying 1200/month on student loans(wells fargo, sallie mae, nelnet) paying 255 on car payments, 140 on car insurance, 90 on gasvand 50 on cell phone bills. that totals 1645$ a month. These are the only bills i have right now.that leaves me with 1665$. Ill probably be spending 1200 total on rent which leaves 465$ for food, a gym membership, alchohol, women and fun for an entire month. I think i can make it work... I got to make it work
