Bulls offseason Thread

Question for you bulls fans do you Genuinely want this team to make the playoffs knowing that management may be tempted to bring D.Rose back not at a 100% in what's almost Guaranteed to be a second round elimination.

If I'm Thibbs right now i'm working on really experimenting with roles and trying to develop younger guys in hopes of getting a lottery pick and bringing D.Rose back at 100%

yea i also think it might be best to not bring rose back and just ride it out....top 10 pick sounds good....but hearing that rose is already cutting i'm guessing he wants to be on court latest april....being a giants fan and knowing that terrell thomas has had 3 serious knee injuries...i cringe at the thought of him playing full speed before june

That's my main concern. The FO/Organization needs to protect DRose from himself.

As far as I'm concerned, this year is make or break for Booz, Noah, and Deng.
If these 3 can't come correct and produce on a consistent basis, then I'm all for Gar making some moves and getting the most possible value in return for these guys.
We got a bunch of cats on 1 or 2 year deals which is also great, we also hold that pick from Charlotte and that exemption from that Kirk trade, so we look good going into the trade deadline/offseason.
I'd like to think that our FO is smart enough to realize that Rose needs help, and what we currently have is not enough.

Deng has been playing very well this year, seeing that hes playing an unreal amount of mins i cant ask much more from him.

Jo has also been playing well. He should make the ASG this year.

Those two have been our best players this year and playing way too many minutes. I've been disappointed in Taj this year. He needs to take that next step, he got his money now its time to improve. Hes no longer the bargain bench guy, hes a player making good money.

Its tough for me to give up on Lu and Jo when we only had one season to see what we could do as Rose got hurt last year. Sad part is we are going to be in a the same spot next year, strapped against the cap, with a weak bench. Money wise we wont be able to make moves until the 2014 offseason when we amnesty Booz and Deng comes off the books. Smh sad man very sad

Thibbs still thinks he is coaching for the 1 seed.

The front office? obviously disconnected from Thibbs.

I don't mind if they keep losing. The farther down they are the less chance they hurry Derrick back.

This years draft is horrible so no sense in playing for a lottery pick, but if losing keeps us from bringing Rose back too soon then so be it.

Boozer for Pau...please lord make this happen.

I saw on twitter that the sun times says pooh will be back in a couple weeks

We all keep saying we want him 100, 110 150%...but none of us know him or his doctors. Could it just he be healed fast? He is young. He does have the best surgeon, rehab specialists and doctors money can buy. He does have the will to put in the work. Maybe he is already 100% and they are still taking him slow.

He could get hurt in practice, first game back this year or tenth game next year. He gotta come back though.

vid of him running, no noticeable limp or favoring of left knee

I'm not too concerned about DRose, his recovery, and the professionals he surrounded himself with. I am concerned though with the Bulls' training staff, especially in light of Rip getting hurt. I'm not sure if Tedeschi is fully to blame, but it seems the staff has had a bad habit of hurrying injured players back to the court even in the same game.

I.e. Jo last year, Rose's minutes management after his various nagging injuries, and now Rip.

I agree for the most part but if you look at Rips last couple of years in Det you'll see he's just been injury prone, happens in the latter days of an athletes career. All the wear & tear takes its toll.

I agree with you, Rip is definitely not a good example to use in what I wrote. To clarify, I meant to use Rip's latest injury and his re-insertion later in the game as an example of my concern with the training staff and their willingness to ignore a player's current condition or injury history.

damn thats a tough loss...George aint played that well against us, not even on 2k.

horrible no-call against Deng

horrible alley opp attempt by Nate

The defense on George wasn't bad, I thought. He hit some tough shots and his jumper has improved too.

I thought Thibs should've pulled Nate for Kirk when he started playing like bad Nate. Live by Nate, die by Nate this season.

they need to put a leash on nate at times, he does good then goes overboard. u can tell early in the 4th what kind of nate u will have and if he is bad pull him and put in kirk.

Derrick Rose Dunking For Weeks, Not Close To Practicing

Derrick Rose has been dunking for weeks, but he is not close to returning to practice.

There also are people close to the Chicago Bulls' guard who believe he shoudn't play at all this season. In fact, any suggestion that Rose could come back from his torn ACL before March is an unrealistic hope.

Rose tore the ACL in his left knee in late April and had surgery on May 12.

Rose has been sprinting, cutting and jumping for weeks now and has recently been spotted finishing sprints at the Bulls' practice facility.

Coach Tom Thibodeau told reporters on Tuesday that Rose is a long way from joining the team on the practice court.

I agree with you ColdCity. I would prefer for Rose to sit this year. The last thing the Bulls need is any type of setback. No need to rush him back.

what is rushing him back tho? ACL rehab is not like it was in the old days. there is ZERO reason for him to sit out the whole season i dont care what are record is

How about if his knee's supporting muscles aren't fully strengthened, but he pushes to come back sooner because they can grab the 7th or 8th seed? Would you think it's worth it?

I like the fact that Marco is gaining confidence. Now, he just has to knock down more of his open looks.
