BREAKING NEWS: Shots fired at U.S. Capitol; building on lockdown

wow so many mental health experts on NT.

some people don't exhibit symptoms of mental illness until they are older,

and those people are reluctant to get help or willing to admit they have an issue.

Plus, even if someone is crazy, you don't think they're this type of extreme crazy

Authorities who searched the apartment in Stamford, Connecticut, found one medication to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, and another that is an antidepressant, according to the source.

Carey's boyfriend contacted police in December saying he feared for the safety of their child, who was 4 months old at the time, according to a law enforcement source involved in the investigation. The boyfriend said the woman was acting delusional, claiming the president had placed Stamford under lockdown and that her house was under electronic surveillance, the source said.

He told police that she was suffering from post-partum depression, was having trouble sleeping and was on medication. Carey underwent a mental health evaluation, said the source, who added that the boyfriend has been questioned by federal authorities about Thursday's events.
The source told CNN that Carey left a letter addressed to the boyfriend at her apartment and that it appeared to contain white powder. The letter was being tested for hazardous substances.

So sad to hear man. It seems like she had been evaluated and given some help, but not enough.

What do you propose? Strap them to beds?
It's kinda hard to be proactive when people are already off their tree.
Crazies gonna crazy.
The best you can hope for is someone close to the perpetrator addresses their sickness and get them help before they act violently.

No, no, no. I personally think people with Mental Health issues are being improperly treated. I think that people are being over medicated on substances that are being shown to have adverse effects such as delirium, hallucinations, blacking out. It has to do with more of how the Industrialized medical complex handles mental health.

Mental Health is probably the most misunderstood issue in the American health system. The problem is most doctors in the field feel it is an exact science, which it isn't. There are depressed kids who are destined to be depressed, doesn't mean they need zoloft. Guns aren't an issue, crazy people with them is.

all i know is that  the police need to show control when holstering their weapons.... period

How to suggest stopping a crazy and/or a potential terrorist from using a vehicle as a weapon? We're talking about securing the Nation's Capital here not Downtown Los Angeles.

we are not talking about the mall parking lot here, this is the white house.

I dont think they really know how to deal with people with Mental Health issues, that's why they give them pills that turn them into zombies.

The pills are the problem.  Look at every pill being advertised on tv.  No matter what it's made to treat they all have one common side effect suicidal thoughts and/or erratic behavior.

I think these pills just help take mental illness to the next level of crazy for some.

We're all different when it comes to chemical balance, and what works for some might effect others in a negative way.

very true, we're one of the only nations in the world that allows for pharma advertising.

on another note, good thing ED pills like viagra don't cause hysteria. can you imagine middle aged men going on a rampage with raging boners :lol
