Brands of yesterday

I loved L-R-G so much until they started selling into more stores that wasn't just skate shops. Then they killed themselves when they sold to Macys.

Streetwear companies come and go. It's a sad affair which is why I give props to even people like The Hundreds, Supreme, etc. for still being around.

My favorite current brand is Quartersnacks. The guys never sell anymore than their accounts and they only make a few pieces a season.

I had a varsity with that Medusa head on it

Had the varsity hoodie. Loved it back then.

I used to go crazy over Lacoste polos. If I saw them for a nice price, I'd buy it even if it was two sizes too big.

Also, not a brand but a category, which is tearaway pants. I see these in stores again. I used to love them, even though I barely used the bottons and just put them on and take them off like regular pants.

I'm a fan of QS as well. It's funny because I always feel like smaller brands like QS, Bronze, Dime, Alltimers, etc. would be bigger on NT than they are. Reading through the list of all these brands being mentioned in here makes me feel like a lot of dudes either moved on from core streetwear or are strictly on the hype stuff now. Just my 2 cents.

I feel like those brands are somewhat isolated to the skate community though, no?

Meh, yes and no. They're definitely skate companies, however, they're affordable and make some clean designs, which is streetwear at its core.

I'm not a hardcore skater but will wear a Bronze hat if I l like it (and do).

Fair enough. I like a lot of what those companies are doing as well. I just have rarely seen them mentioned outside of skaters/skate community. Dime challenge is the **** though

Yeah, I hear you. They're definitely insular to the skate community like you said, just surprised NT isn't savvier to them. Dime challenge is great lol funny crew over there

es muska 1 top 3 skate shoe of all time for me, along with es k1 and sal 23s

Why wear a beater under a t-shirt? I kinda get it with dress shirts (I never do it b/c I hate the feeling.)

I don’t wear a tanktop under a shirt that often anymore but all the jeans I own are slim and usually low-rise. I wish they were mid-rise because if I have to bend down or sit in a chair the waist of my pants slide down along with my underwear even if I wear a belt and I look like a plumber.

i put a beater under all of my shirts no matter what. I dont feel right if I don't have one on.

Dime just isn't that famous yet compared to other skate companies. Bronze had their odd moment where their logo tees were on non skaters but I feel like that company's hype went down a little. Even though Quartersnacks had their collabs with Nike, no one still cares about them aside from the people that know. Funny too cause Quartersnacks' logo really is a Young Jeezy snowman knock off. There is nothing really skateboard about that.

Kinda random, but there's a Vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown my girl and I eat at every weekend and some put a QS snowman sticker on the hand dryer in the bathroom lol. I always look at that and laugh.

But yeah, Bronze had their moment a few years back but that seems to have tapered off.

^i swear i only seen white kids wear those kinda shoes for the most part

I got sent to this town like three hours north in 8th grade, and thats all those kids were wearing. There was one black kid and a couple native kids and even they were wearing em. I had never seen anyone wear those back in the city
