BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!! (Washington Wizards/NBA fans/haters...check in)

Why blow it up? When was the last time they played a good string of games with all of them being healthy? I still believe it can work.

I think Jamison should be cut loose. He's not the kind of power forward that creates match-up problems. You saw today how Cleveland dominated the boards.

Keep Gil, get a shooting guard with Stevenson coming off the bench because he is NOT a starter in this league, Butler at small forward, Blatche at powerforward and Hayward at center.

If Nick Young works on his game this off season, I'd like to see him start at SG.

Love the big 3 they got. Dont like Jamison alot of but hes really good. I love Butler and Arenas but i think if the wizards are smart they will get rid ofArenas, this team has done nothing IMO.

Jamison's contract is up, and let's say Gil opts out... Are they under the cap? Enough to make a push for Elton Brand? Why not go get Brand? Then comeback and re-sign Gil with his Bird Rights?

Gil/Daniels
Young/Stevenson
Butler/McGuire
Brand/Blatch
Haywood/Songaila

Draft a guy like Roy Hibbert, Javale McGee or Marreese Speights to fill out the front line a bit more... I like that team. They just need a guy that can scorewith his back to the rim more. Jamison is more perimeter oriented, and they have trouble scoring in the paint. Brand gives you a better defender on the blocks,too... With guys as athletic as Young/Stevenson/Butler on the perimeter, there's no reason they shouldn't be better defensively. Gil, too, but theyneed somebody to check his attitude and hold him accountable...

Not even close.....there's way more talented dudes in the East than just Gilbert Arenas.

Well, that's just not true.

Name them. The only other player you can even list is Wade.

And to the guy that says scoring pg's don't win chip.

Billups, Jason Williams, and Tony Parker where the pg's for the last 3 or 4 championship teams.

Who is the last pass first pg to win a championship?

I agree with you Nowitness. We need to try to work out a sign and trade for Brand. He is the PF we need. Do a sign and trade with Jamison and draft picks(our 2009, the one Memphis owes us, and another) for Brand. If the Clips would accept that deal that would be a home run for us.

uhhh you can add KG to that list
nerd.gif
....I'd say Bosh too. Pierce is atleast equal to Gil as well

Billups, Jason Williams, and Tony Parker where the pg's for the last 3 or 4 championship teams.
Teams weren't built around them. They aren't/were not shoot first either.

Jason Williams was completely different when he got to Miami...and they had Shaq.
Duncan is responsible for all the Spurs titles.
Pistons were balanced all over the floor and played D

And those 3 guys didn't look to get 25 a night.......they don't need to control the ball.

I'm talkin about Big contract guys that franchises think they can build around...

Don't you guys remember that we were first in the east the last time this team was healthy. A lot of people were saying Gil was one of the top 5 players inthe league. And our bench is MUCH better now than it was at that time.

We've already seen what this team is capable without Arenas.........slightly above .500 basketball. I think this team deserves a chance to see what theycan do healthy. And I really think Gil wants to be here next year.

If I had to get rid of one of the top 3 it would be Jamison. I know he is a great guy and one of the leaders on the team, but his defense is atrocious. No BS,I once saw EARL BOYKINS post him up and score on him. If we could get a bigger PF who can defend and rebound better (even though Jamison averages over 10 rebsthey don't seem to impact the game very much) to pair with Haywood and then keep Gil and Caron I think it would be ideal.

It's obvious people are quick to forget Gil the last 3-4 years, and act like he's not that great after this injury plagues year. Dude is one of the top5 players in the eastern conference when healthy...it's tough to argue because some people are talking about this years Gil (Hurt) and some people arereferring to the Gil before this year (Superstar...argue if you must).

The Wizards have had chemistry issues this season with Gil because he has been in and out of the lineup, and they hit their stride without him, but when he ishealthy, they are a better team.

Caron Butler is a great player, but he is not fit to be the #1 go to guy on a contending team. He is a great complimentary player who is most effective as the#2 scoring option on a balanced scoring team, which is exactly what the Wizards are when they are playing well.

If any of the Wizards Big 3 need to go, its Jamison for a 4 that can score and defend in the post.

Nowitness: I love the concept of letting Jamison go, being able to sign Brand, and bringing back Gil if he opts out. That team would be a PROBLEM.

I think every team in the league would love to have Brand. The problem is, no one is sure if he wants to leave LA - so getting Brand is not realistic for anyteam right now.

Time to blow it up....I've said before, that no matter the outcome of this series, the "Big 3" are done in DC. IMO, Jamison will be retained, and of course Butler will still be here. That leaves Gil as the odd man out. I love his game (when healthy) and he is a top 10 talent in the league (again, when healthy), but like the Big 3 Ernie assembled in Milwaukee (Ray Allen, Sam Cassell, and Glenn Robinson), this experiment hasn't produced the results like everyone had hoped. I just think that with Gil openly saying that he intends to opt out, the writing is on the wall. If anything we could do a sign and trade and see what we can get in return. Wizards fans, and also those who follow the NBA, what do you foresee happening here in DC? What could the Wiz get in return for Gilbert? Remember he has balky knees....there are plenty of suckers out there who could be enticed by a trade....

But in NY... the Big 3: Camby+Houston+Sprewell=

To think we traded away Spree and Camby for trash

*%%%$@! Layden i wish we hadnt fired Ernie

This is the same deal with the Memphis Grizzlies. It just is not going to work out.

You need to try something new and get rid of your star player and coach. Jordan has done a good job there, but if you want to keep having these good years andnot great ones. Changes need to be made.

Keep Caron and Jamison. Try to develop Nick Young and get some new faces in there.

I think your record may go down for the next 2-3 years but you need change.

What is going down now there isn't working.

Oh yeah...the team was built around Shaq

Obviously keep Caron. He's the backbone of the team. I say let EJ come back. He did a great job this season and he deserves another shot. I honestlywouldn't mine getting rid of Gil and/or Antawn, as long as we get some talent in return. Out of the two, I'd rather see Antawn go first. He is a goodplayer but his defense is just horrible. I'd definitely like to see us going after Brand. He's the solid PF that we need. I want our roster next seasonto look something like this:

Arenas
Stevenson
Butler
Brand
Haywood

He's been saying that for the past 2 years...

Jordan has said the team needs to find new leadership during Jamison's absence. Arenas, who had an unsuccessful stint as a co-captain last season, said he is not the solution.

"I'm a goof. C'mon, everyone knows that," Arenas said. "I look at my elders as the leaders. I don't want nobody looking at me. How can I tell somebody 'Don't shoot that shot' when I'm out there chunking 'em?"

Jamison IMO is indispensible....defensively, he's horrid....however, it's the other intangibles that he brings to the table that are invaluable to theWizards. I think he should get re-signed for 3 years, and just serve as a stopgap until Blatche is ready to get starters minutes at the 4. Imagine Jamisoncoming off the bench

. Dude could put up 15 ppg EASY. He's a great community guy, and those are the type of people that Abe loves to have on hisroster.

The writing is on the wall for Gil. I gotta agree w. Allen in that the list of shoot-first PG's leading their teams in the playoffs is less than stellar. The Wizards need a TRUE PG to come in and take over. I'm not talking about Antonio Daniels, because he disappears more often than not (I like him comingoff the bench). Whether it is through the draft or via FA/Trade, something needs to be done.
