He's not. Doesn't drink either.

Not surprised by the hate. He gets a lot of it on Twitter and he responds to it as well with a good portion being funny. He's actually intelligent unlike most ESPN personalities.

He has a goofy voice but it's not like he's doing it for effect, that's his voice. Is that really a fair criticism?

I also get the sense that "trying too hard" is code for you being shamed by someone with a broader vocabulary who's more articulate than you'll ever be.
