probably the most loyal dogs you can own. It's probably why it all depends on the owner, a pitbull can be a baby or a beast cause it listens to you so much.

probably the most loyal dogs you can own. It's probably why it all depends on the owner, a pitbull can be a baby or a beast cause it listens to you so much.

Those stereotypes you hear about pitbulls are just because of the morons that raise them incorrectly. Any dog can be vicious murderer if raised that way. You can have a toy dog that bites anybody it sees its all about how they are raised. Pitbulls are just powerful dogs which is why it's so dangerous to have a bad owner raise one.
Basically know about the dog before you get him. With my pit he's EXTREMELY overprotective and his mom was the same exact way. Knowing that before we got him helped us a lot. Socialization is important but sometimes depending on the dog ,it doesn't work perfectly. With my dog puppy obedience classes helped but near the end my dog realized he was king in the class and we learned quick that he does not get along well with other dogs. I highly recommend taking a puppy obedience class to learn about your dog and how it interacts with other people/dogs.
My boy started off being nice to females not so nice to males which was fine with me but recently he's closed his circle. He's not too big on meeting new people he actually tries to attack them depending on what they do while they were in my house. Even when dudes dap me up my boy takes it as the other person as attacking me and is quick to defend me lol.
In short, crate train him early, NEVER let him wander around your house without supervision, get him a muzzle if you are the slightest bit questionable about his temperament, and then prepare yourself for the many ignorant statements you are going to hear about pitbulls when you get one.

coming from a bulldog owner, I 100% DISAGREE.
I was wavering between getting a pit or a bulldog myself, but opted to go the bulldog route only because I live in a condo and dont have the space and/or time to constantly be exercising a real energetic dog like a pit. I personally love pits and cant wait for the day I upgrade to a real house with a yard so I can get a new pit buddy for my lil olde english bulldogge. not tryin to threadjack but heres a pic of my bulldog.

The worst thing is when someone is all lovey lovey with him and he is just chilling being lovey back.
Then they ask what kinda dog he is.

Then they pull away like it has a disease looking at him in disgust and fear.
