This is my first attempt to customizing, or bleaching any shoes to my liking.
Pics with all four laces on them. I'm thinking navy and red look the best.
Opinions appreciated, good or bad.
Steps:
Rubbed a thin layer of Vaseline on the leather, wings, stitching, and eye loop areas (used a thin brush for the stitching and wings)
Applied a light coat of regular concentrated bleach, then let sit for 10 minutes
Applied another light coat and let sit for another 10 minutes
*if you notice the wings starting to come off, use a hair dryer and press down on the areas that is separating so it can re-adhere*
Once dry, I washed them and let soaking for 30 minutes in softener to avoid stiffness and to eliminate the strong bleach odor.
Let it air dry overnight and done.
