Black Culture Discussion Thread

I'm going to need more context because I could barely hear him and that looks ignorant as hell being triggered by "solidarity". Shout out to the tall thick joint.

Yea', being triggered by "Solidarity" is weird to me, though there are people who carry this take

I believe that we have to build independent political power for true solidarity to exist, but hyper-individualism is a road to nowhere that is a tool of the Colonial tradition

No dog in that particular fight, word usage matters.

He said subservience but some consider all southerners to simply speak with more manners and politeness in their accent whether they’re servants or not.

Saying that is crazy though :lol

Re: Karmelo Anthony

They invited a (black) defense attorney from Texas to speak on the issue.

It's a good conversation. Van put a lot of things in perspective for her but as he said that's why you gotta have a diverse jury.

But yea, it was a good convo.

They also said this is why it's important to stop ducking jury duty because we get outraged after the verdict but avoid the opportunity to be part of the change.

ALOT of sistas rock bonnets are they not worthy of a bball player ?

Again…. WEAR YOUR NATURAL HAIR AND BE PROUD OF IT. The lashes and eyebrow doctoring is sickening too.

You are worthy of what you attract. Ain’t gone take you serious wearing a bonnet in public.

so, to answer your question, you’re worthy of what you attract, based on how you present yourself.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the texture and style of a black woman’s natural hair. But time and time again, they choose alternatives like bonnets weaves or straight wigs………

Due with this information as you want

Same way they have standards, men have standards too

You know they wear bonnets to protect their hair while sleeping?

Why is the assumption: bonnets = NOT wearing your natural hair?

We didn't even SEE this woman's hair.

…. Talking about the ones who wear them in PUBLIC. I’m from South Florida. Of course I know.

I’ll bet you $100 she’s wearing a weave

The vast majority of our sisters are out here not wearing their natural hair. The hair industry is a billion dollar industry. Especially in the South. You’re being dense as usual. You know most of them are either straightening their hair still or wearing weave.

It’s such a bad look that at a young age, mothers are putting weaves in their daughters hair, basically implying that their natural hair isn’t good enough.

Again, back to the subject, if Jalen ain’t her type, so what

But she isn't in public.

She also didn't show her head.

 How did we get THERE is all I'm asking if neither applied to HER.

We got here because the matter is she feels UNWANTED/bothered that Jalen Brunson is with a white girl… meanwhile she’s in her bed, posting, for the world to see. Maybe Jalen wasn’t attracted to woman who move like her……..

I guess social media has yall in such a chokehold that you guys don’t care about optics.

She’s not presenting herself in a way to be wanted. Definitely looks like type that expects a man to approach her. She’s upset that he’s in an interracial marriages. She’s showing her insecurities
