Black Culture Discussion Thread

Lastly, sick of this mess too. All black men/people aren’t unhappy or miserable:lol :lol :rollin

It’s becoming a crutch at this point

People from all races and walks of life are happy or unhappy. The whole “damaged” trope needs to stop. These cats really becoming females.

Pausing to answer that question doesn’t mean unhappiness. Let someone gather themselves then explain. Adults are responsible for their OWN happiness

Ya’ll need to stop making the age excuse for some of these people.

Fred Hampton died at 21
The phrase young and dumb exists for a reason.

(Typically speaking) Being young means you don't have the life experience that you will eventually have later in life.

Why are you using such an extreme example anyway?

I swear you ONLY look at exceptions to the rule and completely ignore the norm/majority.

Several Bible verses refer to Jesus as our brother, most prominently Romans 8:29 and Hebrews 2:11, which describe Him as the "firstborn among many brothers" and that He is not ashamed to call us brothers because they have the same heavenly Father. Another verse, Mark 3:35, quotes Jesus saying that "whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother".

Fred Hampton was assassinated at the age 21, cause of death is usually glossed over, but let's tell the truth.

I should’ve put assassinated but that wasn’t my point. My argument point was his intellectualism and thought process as a 20 year old man

The difference is NLE didn't live through the Civil Rights movement.

So everyone’s basically admitting that most modernity’s youth (and even some older adults) are innately immature and lacking knowledge?

Jonathan Majors is RIGHT and I’m glad he checked NLE Choppa the way he did. It’s not about whether Jesus is our BROTHER or not. Choppa said “why do we praise the son/Jesus”. John 14:6 Jesus told him…..”I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the FATHER except through me.”

Folks better start reading their Bibles around here.

Fellas…..ya’ll gotta STOP posting these videos with these feminine dudes. No matter how good the message is or means to be, the overall point is diluted when listening to a man…….that isn’t displaying male characteristics. We need proper representation out here.
Dude is just young. Those talking points are older than him.

I remember reading an article basically stating that idea. The modern 20 year old is living a life less demanding than that of a 20 year old of past generations.

Young adulthood has basically been extended to age 30 at this point.

If that’s the case then it’s even MORE incumbent for brothas like Jonathan Majors in real life or even brothas like me, you DCAllAfrican DCAllAfrican , finessence finessence and many others on here (NT) to push younger brothas to be better, learn more, read more and get them to be more knowledgeable. WE gotta get folks out there confront zone and get everyone up to speed as much as possible.

Remember champ……EACH ONE TEACH ONE.

My man said "even though the message is important, the guy saying it isnt manly enough for my liking so we shouldnt listen to him"

Jesus Lord

Two things can be true at the same time.

Both of them were right and both of them were wrong.

That's what "Each One Teach One" means.

"Read it again" = checking and checking isn't teaching.

"Folks better start reading their Bibles around here" is WILD!

Jesus taught that true worship is to be offered to God the Father "in spirit and in truth" and that it should be an act of love, obedience, and sacrifice, not just external rituals. He emphasized that the Father seeks such worshipers, and that worship is inseparable from a life of righteousness, including obeying God's commands, having a correct attitude towards others, and being generous. He also instructed his followers to pray to "Our Father" and pointed to him as the way to the Father, indicating a connection between worshiping the Father and following Jesus.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with what NLE Choppa said. At all. It was actually a great question, and an opportunity for deeper discussion.

deuce king deuce king Too many adults have been babying these kids man. Being so overprotective of them that it legit cripples them as they age. The lack of resiliency/fight in some of these kids today is really concerning.

Yes, I know kids have ALWAYS quit things but it seems like it's just more common these days for a larger population of kids.

I definitely agree you!! Folks babying and coddling these kids…….especially these young black boys which is part of the problem out here. You can see it and hear it in their responses.

I had to correct this young kid earlier today at the Metro Station who was wearing a ski mask on his way to school. The first thing he said was “two things can be true at the same time”……SMH. Soon as he said that or whenever anybody says that I already know they have nothing good to say. Can’t help someone that doesn’t want to be helped…….even though they clearly need it.

Two things can be true.

1. You should mind your own business.

2. He should accept everything that comes along with wearing a mask - including dealing with folks who don't mind their own business

I might start wearing a mask too - especially with all these facial recognition cameras popping up all over the country. :smh:
