Black Culture Discussion Thread

Mam don't say no crazy stuff like that again.

He still has to live life after basketball.

Buddy gone retire having made probably a cool 300-400+ million.

If he can’t survive off that, (even after taxes so, say 200 million) :rollin :lol :lol

All jokes aside tho, I think it really is as simple as "we hate you because your skin is a different color". That's they type of stuff simple people do. As we know, racism is connected to lower IQs.
Maybe those that study the mysteries know/knew something is/was different about us.

I don't believe it's as simple as the skin color by any stretch.

Nor do I think people that have found a way to access control/power/dominance over the World in recent history can be considered "simple people."

I just think things are always deeper than what we see on the surface.

Can't imagine folks who value literacy investing in internet narratives.

Believing that man can't read is wild.

"Exposed" :lol:

Evidently, folks don't have brothers.

I mean it isn't far fetched though.

Hopefully he CAN but if someone seriously told me HE (LaMelo) couldn't, I wouldn't put is past him.

I think they were the only ones trying.
It still takes a plan, intelligence, and will.

It's evil for sure though. But when I hear simple, I think pea-brained. Worldwide dominance wouldn't be achieved by simple minded folks.

But their day will come. Everything comes to an end

I could go on but Imma say this and leave it alone. I'm pretty sure it was more dumb people involved than "intelligent" people. A small group of "intelligent" folk that probably had ulterior motives and a bunch of idiots that ran with it.

Of course.

Masterminds and foot soldiers.

The same structure of any invasion.

The dude was literally standing there about to fake read the page with his sunglasses on. When they said read it out loud he knew the jig was up and handed the papers over.

What narrative are you trying to squeeze out of here?

"Squeezes out" a narrative, then asks what narrative I'm "trying to squeeze out".

If you believe that man can't read based solely on that video - cool.

I guess the bigger issue is why a black man feels OK with voluntarily looking like he can't read when he had a chance to dispel the accusation.

Just don't think that's anything worth playing about.

They weren’t always on top and the way things looking the shift is already happening, it’ll take a while and we won’t be around for it but the end is coming for them for sure

Melo acts like an idiot and this video does nothing to dispel that for me.

LaMelo has never been a scholar and he basically dropped out in the 10th grade so I’m not surprised he’s not the best reader or doesn’t come off as smart :lol

His fam put him on a basketball path from jump and he made it, so education wasn’t the priority for a dude like him

Why would he need to "dispel the accusation" when the burden of proof is on the accuser?

His brother was clowning.

Brothers do that.

I took it as a joke.

I saw no evidence to support the narrative that LaMelo Ball is illiterate.

IMHO, if LaMelo Ball was in fact illiterate, that would make his father and brother horrible human beings and would serve as an indictment on the Ball family (they raised him), the DOE (he has a HS diploma), and the NBA (he signed contracts).

The real tragedy is that so many nameless, non-famous NBA player black boys who come from single-parent households are functionally illiterate and get passed from grade to grade.

No child left behind? :smh:

Huge issue.

But the powers that be want it to be that way but something needs to change man because it's sad to come in contact with middle/high schoolers that still can't read.

Public shame is nonexistent nowadays

There's a reason why using a lot of big words is a sign of disrespect a lot places. :lol Flexing how smart you are, on people who ain't academics, can get you lumped up in the real world. (Id be surprised at Lavar tbh)

I damn sure ain't stopping to have a convo with you over this.

If this were me……..depending on how I felt in the moment and if I had the time I definitely would have responded back to the racist. Just like the movie “Get Out” was trying to teach a lot of black people…..always get your phone out and record your interactions with these racist individuals, that way we can identify them.

Also in situations like this WE had to learn how to be racists right back in response. Learn how to go on the offense instead of on the defense. Threaten to call the police on him and ask him where his immigration papers. Make him and his wife feel “less than”‘and sorry that they ever approached you to begin with. Black people gotta learn how to start calling the cops because other groups certain don’t mind calling them on us.

He also should have pushed him when the racist got in his way and purposely blocked his movement on the sidewalk. Invading his personal space, especially since he was recording that.

You'd be surprised how far a big, strong, "Man if you don't get the **** outta my face!" and a good death stare will get you.

Should've called ICE

Dumb argument as usual. Rap didn’t become mainstream, I’ll say up until like 1983-1986…

What about the HUNDREDS of years and decades before hip hop? There was still violence, guns were invented farrrrrr before hip hop. People were abusing drugs and alcohol farrrrrr before hip hop

I also remember the C Delores Tucker and Calvin Butts shenanigans

A lot of humans are sick in the head. Point blank. Rap isn’t responsible for that. Every excuse in the world to absolve them of being innately heathens. Stop it

humans are innately violent, music is just a by-product of how some can express themselves either thru positive means or negative means.
