Black Culture Discussion Thread

Similar to the stimulus check, the more money you make, the less they have to dish out to you. That is ridiculous. The same way that they've shelled out money to the Jews without any questions or stipulations, they should shell out even more money to black people.
Ah gotchu

having increased convos regarding racism and civil rights irl. I want to make sure I'm not being dumb myself. As an asian, is it wrong to call an african american a biscuit boy? said african american would be like candace owens and jason whitlock.

Got an email today and our company is giving everyone an extra floating holiday to use for Juneteenth. :nthat:

We work together? Got the same email a few minutes ago that we're closed Friday and starting next year we'll have the second floating holiday added for our use throughout the year.

Probably just best not to demean anyone.

I realize those folks deserve it at times. So maybe just do so constructively? I know that ain't too fun, but we're really asking for permission to use the phrase biscuit boy? Is it truly that serious?

for me its more so clarification. I'd rather seek out education for myself. Rather humiliate myself seeking clarification versus doing it with malintent

I feel you.

I'm a wet blanket though. In my view, ain't cool to call anyone a biscuit boy regardless of who you are. But in terms of acceptability? Not sure. Wish it wasnt acceptable from anyone.

(In)Visible Portraits, the feature documentary directorial debut from Oge Egbuonu, shatters the too-often invisible otherizing of Black women in America and reclaims the true narrative as told in their own words. The film illuminates the history of how we got here, dismantles the false framework of the present-day reality, celebrates the extraordinary heritage of exceptional Black women, and ignites hope for the next generation.
