Black Culture Discussion Thread

This is valid, was researching stuff & came across this:

This could go in the unpopular opinions thread, but I've seen a lot of black ppl how'll go out of their way to complain about black american owned businesses service, yet will love walmart & target w/ their 3 checkout lines, or will frequently go to a dominican/nigerian salon spot that'll tell who they'll do your hair when Keisha down the street will leave u satisfied & you won't taking aspirin afterwards.

"This is a joint #ProjectEXODUS livestream, where TheGlobalBlackGirl and I will break down practical steps to take toward emigrating from the United States to Central America (with a focus on Costa Rica) -- and how to do it as soon as possible."

So in light of current events, I’m sure we are all having open conversations. I have a Caucasian friend who has shared how we should take a moderate stance on things...and further more presents the views of the black contrarian Larry Elder:

I know there is much conversation on Dr Umar Johnson. What are some thoughts on Larry Elder?

He has movie called Uncle Tom which discusses the Black Contrarian like Elder, Ben Carson, Candace Owens, etc.

I think a movie like that is more dangerous for us bridging across to White people, as it conflates and distorts the black reality.

I swore I wrote a comment before about why Larry Elder and Umar were on opposite ends of the spectrum

I think you did, I guess it got deleted? Just based on history anything with procyon lotor gets deleted.

terry crews is a doof:

I love Umar because he is about black solidarity world wide.
I hate Larry Elder because he is the worst. He panders to racist conservatives.
So there

So that’s my problem. My white friend sent me a link regarding Larry Elder.

I had no idea who he was. My friend knows who Elder and Candace Owens is.

My friend thinks he’s open minded. But not sharing in the black experience and seeing a black man discuss how we should respect the cops, the issue isn’t racism, etc.

I asked him if he ever watched Hidden Colors. If he watched Umar Johnson. No.

Im cool if Elder is pandering to a specific demographic, political leaning. But it’s dangerous when right now...we’re discussing police brutality and systematic racism. And this guy chimes in. We’re not being hunted. Candace Owens said Floyd shouldn’t be a martyr.

Thanks for trying to sabotage the movement.

I wouldn’t even entertain non black views on black topics.

You keep white friends who dictate to you how you should think and feel about black issues?

The larry elders and Candace Owens are very dangerous to the black community because white people who listen to them can point to them and say “see these black people share my views”. Those people are used as tools for white supremacist, like little minions using their talking points.

this is why we ostracize people like that to show that they have no place in the black community
