Its easy to link a Chinese in America to China or a Jew in America to Isreal because they didnt come here enslaved at one point.

We cannot sit here and directly link the African-American plight to one single country in Africa because WE ARE DIFFERENT in that we came here enslaved and against our will hundreds of years ago.

HOWEVER, it is worth noting from homeboy comment that we dont have anywhere to back us up (unlike ethnic Jews and Chinese) because our ancestral home isnt strong like theirs.

Outside of America I’m aware of ancestry in Portugal and Panama, neither of which I claim. When the majority of your ancestry has been somewhere for over 400yrs there is no backup.

Africa was highly likely named after the white Roman general Scipio Africanus. I respect you for finding balance and embracing your whiteness.

I would think that an even HIGHER compliment to yourself, would be to state that you are a product of your ancestors, not some land in particular. Your ancestry made that land from which you originate, and your ancestors created the culture that produced all that you know and then love. I'd be remiss to state that one of the things missing among those of us who are indeed of color, is that our spiritual identity, or lack thereof, is what has been taken from us, and is doing us the most harm. Those of us who lay claim to monotheistic beliefs, do ourselves a huge disservice in regard to what our ancestors on the other side can do for us, while we are on this side. How we rest, live, eat and sleep, vote, should be influenced by what we see and then hear spiritually. But on this side we are distracted by pettiness, things that only enforce what the oppressors have already wrought upon us.

I am my ancestors, I thank my ancestors, I know that my ancestors protect me, and I know that my ancestors only want the best for me, so I will not settle for less.

All those civil rights orgs pushed light skinned and passing for white blacks to leadership positions.

Talented tenth boule organizations felt that light skinned blacks were a buffer to white Supremacy. But eventually they all end up getting taken advantage of. It's almost a tradition to have lightskinned or pass for white blacks as leadership. And folks wonder where the colorism in the black community comes from. It trickles down.
