Anyone pick up today's edition of the New York Times? They launched an initiative called the 1619 Project. The first African slaves arrived here in the US in August of 1619, so they're commemorating the 400th anniversary by detailing the legacy of slavery, and how African-Americans were instrumental in building this country. They had a full magazine full of articles, essays, poems dedicated to it. Def worth checking out.

People forget about pre colonial Spanish America and the Inquisition. The Spanish paved the way for the Brits. Neither were the creators of the slave trade.
