Black Culture Discussion Thread

Sidenote: white folks look at me like I'm crazy when I say I literally don't give a damn about the 4th of July. Shidddd, just another paid day off from work to me
Yeah man, I be glad my co-workers don't hit me with that happy 4th ******** or try to discuss it with me cuz I don't desire to be looked at as the angry crazy black guy.

Nah fam, I'm about equality, not inequality.

Extra woke white folks ready to put chains around they neck are wylin, just like the black folk that encourage them.

I am not uncomfortable with this at all.
A few things, while at the pyramids at Giza, I saw that there are tombs that white people are not allowed to go inside of. This is because they are seen as our ancestors. For whites to enter those tombs, it is deemed disrespectful. I had never felt more at home. I am glad that equality does not exist there.
I personally do not want whites to feel comfortable coming to gatherings that are about us, Black people, and the things that we consider sacred without paying a higher price for it. They've taken advantage of all things Black, and if they are forced to pay more due to the exposure, I am all for it. They have done the exact same thing to us for centuries and STILL do. Here in NYC there is a place called Hudson Yards, which is located in the high rent (White) area of Chelsea. When they first opened, they did not accept cash. They have super high end shops there, and people who are under banked are not encouraged to even eat there due to the no cash policy.
I have a buddy who is Jewish, who happens to be a lawyer, and a great one at that. Whenever he takes on a white client who hints at being an anti Semite, he charges them more per hour.

I like that. Make them pay.

WHY DO WE HAVE POC(PEOPLE OF COLOR) AND NONPOC(WHITE PEOPLE) TICKETS? I'M GLAD YOU ASKED!

EQUALITY MEANS TREATING EVERYONE THE SAME

EQUITY IS INSURING EVERYONE HAS WHAT THEY NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

OUR TICKET STRUCTURE WAS BUILT TO INSURE THAT THE MOST MARGINALIZED COMMUNITIES (PEOPLE OF COLOR) ARE PROVIDED WITH AN EQUITABLE CHANCE AT ENJOYING EVENTS IN THEIR OWN COMMUNITY(BLACK DETROIT).

AFFORDING JOY AND PLEASURE IS UNFORTUNATELY STILL A PRIVILEGE IN OUR SOCIETY FOR POC AND WE BELIEVE EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE ACCESS TO RECEIVING SUCH.

WE'VE SEEN TOO MANY TIMES ORGASMIC EVENTS HAPPENING IN DETROITAND OTHER POC POPULATED CITIES AND WHAT CONSISTENTLY HAPPENS IS PEOPLE OUTSIDE OF THE COMMUNITY BENEFITING MOST FROM AFFORDABLE TICKET PRICES BECAUSE OF THEIR PROXIMITY TO WEALTH.

THIS CYCLE DISPROPORTIONATELY DISPLACES BLACK AND BROWN PEOPLE FROM ENJOYING ENTERTAINMENT IN THEIR OWN COMMUNITIES.

AS AN AFROFUTURIST YOUTH LEAD INITIATIVE THE VOICES OF OUR YOUTH INFORM OUR RESISTANCE.

Yo layziegunts layziegunts you get laced out there?

AFCON 2019: Senegal Star Krépin Diatta Racially Abused and Appearance Shamed by African Model

https://www.foxsportsasia.com/footb...bused-and-appearance-shamed-by-african-model/

20-year-old Krepin Diatta was put in an unusual position of being racially abused by a fellow African after a model tweeted out that he looks like a ‘frog’.

She didn’t stop there, however, and went on to claim that she wouldn’t marry him even for 50 million dollars. Naturally, fans of the footballer didn’t take well to her comments and hit back in kind on social media.

The ugly episode was sparked off when Diatta attracted attention following an absolute screamer that he scored in Senegal’s 2-0 victory over Tanzania a few days back.

Pictures of him with his white girlfriend then emerged on social media after the goal, to which the African model replied, sparking off the chain of events.

Some of the replies to the African model were in kind and appearance shamed her for her comments about the Club Brugge midfielder.

However Diatta took the high road in the situation, posting a message of tolerance and acceptance on social media. He referenced the fact that he gets made fun of for looking a certain way by the African community itself and advocated that they should stick together to eliminate racism.

Unfortunately too many black people feel like we have to be moral people while other groups **** on us. We have to take the high road. Fight hate with love and all that BS. Too many wannna accept other groups when they don't accept you. Leach off our culture but don't care about us. Gotta get rid of that mindset. It hasn't and won't work. Treat people how they treat you. If they show respect, I show it back. If they don't **** with us, I don't **** with them.

White's, Asians, Arabs even Hispanics (and they're a mixed group of people) put themselves first. We should do the same.

That’s ****ing ******ed and makes people of color look broke or in need of a discount. Disrespectful all the way around no matter what nationality. :smh:

I dont think its about looking broke or in need of a discount

i think its quite literally about representation and accessibility

like tickets are priced affordably so white ppl will buy in multitude and just by virtue of population be able to "space out" black people at a black event

like the people who the events are essentially made for dont get to enjoy because there are white people everywhere

raising the price for white people is to just cut out the white "tourists" from the white people who are genuinely invested in the black community imo
