Black Culture Discussion Thread

The Spring Break issues folks are seeing are from grown adults mid-20s to early-30s

My thing is, Spring Break happens EVERY year.

Different races congregate in various places, EVERY year.

I don't know if those events get as much press/attention but we know why.
Yea once I saw that it wasn’t any shootings or nothing too crazy that really happened folks just don’t wanna see a whole bunch of young black ppl out and about…Basically everybody but us can enjoy spring break or gather :{

Isn't Spring Break meant for teens?

Why is it an adult thing now?

… you do understand that FAMILIES take trips on spring break? It’s always been a mixed crowd of college aged kids and families who go on spring vacations….

Not strictly college students.

And I live in Fort Lauderdale (which use to be considered the spring break capital). The beach isn’t only for college kids and teenagers… families take trips to frequent the beach as well.

Miami Beach did away with it for a few years for that very reason. They were tired of the younger crowd interrupting the familial atmosphere

Spring break is a wide range now, from like 18-32…N some folks pushing 40 still partake depending on where it is like in Houston this year

I would imagine that's two different conversations. The families ain't a part of these complaints about Spring Break in these cities trying it for the first time.

People act like the world isn’t different in this social media era. Damn near all ages trying to participate and be involved in everything….. they’re DEFINITELY not drawing the line at Spring Break. People still trying to compare 1986 with 2026. People are living their 5th and 6th childhood nowadays:lol :lol

It’s a legitimate free-for-all out here :lol

I’ve known dudes who are in their 30s and 40s down here in south Florida who strictly go out there to sell weed and hard drugs. Dudes be cashing out for real

You're thinking 13,14 year olds. I'm talking 17,18,19.

And you'd be surprised.

SPring Break is known as a young adults thing.

I am not thinking about 13,14.

When you said TEENS, I am thinking folks in HS.

When I hear COLLEGE students, I think of young adults. (Even if they are technically teenagers)

Either way, ****** in they 30s gotta grow up and find they own thing.

A 30 year old nowadays DEFINITELY behaves like a teenager:lol :lol :rollin :rollin

Ya’ll just either dismissing or forgetting that a lot of people have arrested development :lol :lol.

Telling a 27-33 year old that they’re “old” is damn near an insult to them. That demographic is a confused bunch

Nothing worse than a bunch of ****** on the beach or at a hot destination spot dressed in all black from head to toe. Dudes are already sweating bullets after taking a few steps out in the hot sun…...LOL.

My screen musty just from looking. All them women and dudes want to pack the toolie.

We really need a discussion on why dudes be 5-10+ deep with no h***s in sight :lol

Me and my homies always would separate, spit game on our own, then meetup again at the designated spot and share information

Funny thing is the older ppl still have their own things but they also wanna be involved when they hear about spring break being lit or see folks promoting it on social media…Like finessence finessence said it’s for everybody now, don’t really got much to do with a school break at all :lol …The ppl that follow social media hype n chase hot spots gonna do it regardless of age, word to what freaknik n black bike weeks eventually turned into as well…Spring Break just the recent version of all that kinda stuff

Being in your early/mid-30s is not “old” by any means and it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t have fun. However, you shouldn’t be that age specifically traveling to hang out with college aged kids. Full stop.
