Black Culture Discussion Thread

Thinking about some things & it kinda wild how Black people admit that all these institutions have a record of mistreating us & showing sizable racism but the past few years there has been a push to just minimize it & trust in em anyway :lol:

- White Militia's popping up, FBI noting that white supremacist are actively infiltrating police departments nationwide..... somehow there's blacks fighting for gun control & stricter laws to get em.
- For years i've heard how doctors mistreat black patients, don't listen & delve into symptoms, over perscribe drugs etc etc..... 2020 comes & those same people are telling you to "trust science" & not have any doubts about it.
- Haven't really grown much as a group since civil rights, we KNOW the two party system hasn't benefited us & yet year after year we see people berated for not believing in these trash *** candidates.

I'm tired of mainstream issues forcing black people to act against their own good in order to appease everyone else. this **** is insanity

Go get vaccinated bro

Not sure if mentioned, but I turned 41 last year and grew up in church. I had "church clothes", "school clothes" and "play clothes". Church clothes was an actual thing up until I went to high school and started to attend white church, where the children would wear their "school clothes".

Years back I was watching a documentary and it explained slave masters would take their slaves the church and dressed their slaves really well to show how rich they were. Slave master could show he's so rich even my slaves dress nice. Hence the term "church clothes". Slavery was abolished in 1865 yet we we still had a slave mentality in the 1990's.

This hit me kind of hard. It feels like no aspect of our existence as Black people in the West escapes the curse of slavery.

I got another for you. Do you know why black folks get the “Sterotype” for always being late and dip early? Anytime approved time spent off the the masters property was done so at their own risk. Sometimes a slave master would allow a slave to visit family on a another plantation, was lent to help out on another property or some other reason. Say they slave was expected at 7am, but the the sunrise ain’t till 8am. No slave would dare get caught off masters property while its still dark out. Even if they waited till sunrise, it was typical for a slave to be stopped and hassled by any and everyone they encountered on the way to their destination.

For anyone wanting to learn about black culture, I’d suggest looking into Apartheid in South Africa. The used the slavery as a blueprint for how they treated blacks. Asians and Indians didn’t far too well either.

I really want us to stop posting "free____" when we know the person robbed somebody, or did something violent if it wasnt self defense..
