I found this in an old thread while doing a vanity search

the majority of living spaces (or anything really) that's overtly contemporary in design principals tends to look dated in less than 5 years...

of course if you don't plan to be a bachelor in that time-frame, I guess it doesn't matter, but if I were designing a "bachelor pad" I'd buy something that I wouldn't throw away in 5 years and keep for a while...

btw, saying damien hirst is one of your favorite artists is like saying mcdonalds is one of your favorite restaurants....they only difference is that one of them actually remains within what it portrays and isn't taken as anything other than that by anyone...

It's not about affording expensive apartments or houses, just simply taking ideas from well designed "bachelor pads."

When you get your own spot...more so when you own you start putting more into your decor than you think. I find myself in Crate and Barrel and IKEA more so than shoe stores now a days.

Nah, this is in Austin. I know my apartments have like sister apartments in Houston though, so it's not surprising.

This is a great thread...I gotta wait til the maid comes by before I can post pics though

Anyone have any suggestions on stores that carry contemporary sectionals? I've seen ones I really like online, but I'm not buying a couch without sitting on it.

whered you find that couch? I'm looking for one pretty similar to that one.
I found it on overstock.com then did some research and the best deal was on http://www.livingcomforts...wi-td6301-mecue-03.html.
After the 5% off coupon it was $1,377 with free shipping.
How did that turn out for you?  I don't think I could ever order a couch without sitting on it first.

Looks like one of my rugs. (picture below) It's the "IDBYN" (801.393.00) from Ikea.

While we are on the subjects of rugs, no B-Cave is complete with out a robotic vacuum cleaner.
