B.o.B. on one.

Father your children yall and prioritize education. I'm not specifically talking formal education either, see how well that's worked out for some in this thread.

So what do flat earthers think when they see those GoPro videos of weather balloons sent up into space like this:

Is the government editing in their own footage into the GoPro while it's in space?

For every Video like that there is a video like this.

The runway has the same "curvature" while he is on the ground that the Earth does when is is thousands of feet in the air.

Is it the curve of the window?

When he "appears" to look out of the side window, the horizon is flat.

But, the simple fact that the horizon/runway is curving before he even takes flight, makes you think, me anyway.

The main thing is people don't want to feel insignificant

But the truth of the universe is that we are EXTREMELY insignificant in the grand scheme of things

Human existence is a tiny blip in comparison to the universe and galaxy around us

Different ways for individuals to deal with that exist in religion and to some extent conspiracy theories

"If a flat earth exists, I'm better than everyone else that 'Doesn't believe' and I'm woke. This makes me matter."

Sums up pretty much all conspiracy theorists.

Listen to the most recent Joe Rogan podcast with Eddie Bravo. That was one of the most infuriating things I've listened to.

There are times when it come true though right?

CIA and crack is a great example.  There's a really fine balance to maintain when walking along these types of things. Yeah we have a freedom of information act that has helped, but a lot of info also gets redacted.

Too special to be duped: Need for uniqueness motivates conspiracy beliefs.

stuff like flat earth is funny because you have to disregard WHOLE sections of infrastructure and full on companies that do work in fields where space/orbits matter

are companies like Garmin and other GPS companies just lying to people?

does SpaceX just do nothing and sit around making fancy videos to show they are "spending money"? what's the end goal is space travel is not true?
It blows my mind how people ask these kind of Questions, or feel so safe that this in not fathomable.

Or make assumptions like "they have no reason to lie to us"...............they have lied to us about much smaller and much bigger things.

To think like that, is to be as "brainwashed" as you claim Flat Earther's are. IMO of course.

I think what you're saying is why people are so ready to believe memes and random YouTube videos. People question things more thoroughly from establishment sources but not from social media. That's why these "____ died" hoaxes and other easily disproved statements are so prevalent.

We're at a place in history now where disinformation is almost indistinguishable from fact at first view. A random person on the internet is capable of lying just like any high paid CEO or government official.

NASA been lying for a few decades (years upon years after others from other nations have said the earth is round) but the dudes that convinced the world Jesus is a white man and has been systematically destroying civilizations for centuries through underhanded methods (including disinformation) know the earth is actually flat and it's being hidden.

I'm not buying it. I'm skeptical of NASA too but nahhhh man.

I also think it is why people are so easily convinced or eager to believe.

Give them something that just goes completely left and against anything they have been taught, and they are ready to adopt those principles in place of what they always believed, been taught or believed to have been true.

Like, there is a difference between using critical thinking and research to arrive at a new hypothesis/answer/reason,  and simply adopting the complete opposite of what you have been taught just because you are "Raging against the Machine"

I think that desire to Rage Against is being tested here with the Flat Earth Movement.

Now that I have actually said that out loud, this could explain the reasoning behind the whole Flat Earth movement and why it is being pushed in the first place.

Example; (and I''m thinking like someone who "might be behind the PSYOP of Flat Earth" would think) If we got Millions to believe something so absurd, it's time to begin Phase 1, The People are ready to accept X, accept 'insert Wild IDEA', accept HUMAN CLONING, accept whatever.....

Not sure if any of that made sense.

The internet really ruined a lot for people. It used to be that we would go to the library, read and learn things. But the internet doesn't fact check. It has actually lead to a society that just won't accept views that differ from their own.

This is why the US is so fragmented. The internet provided an outlet for people to find like minded individuals and they all reaffirm each others beliefs and no one fact checks because their belief is fact.

Flattened globe map is an improper representation of what earth would look though.

But I say, what if a group of highly trained flatearthers infiltrated the so called hikers, and in the right moment, LEFT THEM AND MADE A RUN FOR THE BARRIER. We Flatearthers should organize our own "military" divison, because this is a war, they will begin to KILL US if we become too strong, too capable, too many, they will, the ice barrier is the biggest secret OF ALL TIME, they will kill to protect this secret...

So you agree that we flatearthers should create our own military divison, our own safehouses, our own infiltration agents? I think this is of utmost importance, we must get rid of all naivity, just as we got rid of the globe delusion, and get ready to face LITERAL GUN FIRE if we head towards the ice barrier on our own, WE NEED TO GET A FEW BILLIONAIRES on our side, and create A PARA-MILITARY FLAT EARTH ARMY. Anything else is naive.

:lol

Y'all's people

Watching Genius on Nat Geo about Einstein is fascinating. Watching him challenge the status quo, not be accepted by his peers, but kept reinforcing his ideas with articles and evidence so much that the science community at the time invited him to prove it, and he accepted the challenge. He was seen as ridiculous too but he put in the work. Want to prove scientists wrong, that's a good path to follow. Challenge them after you've put in the work, it's not just about acceptance. Wouldn't it be amazing to have some theory or law named after you? I'm not seeing that though, I'm seeing dismiss, deflect, insult. It's like they're too afraid, know they're phony or don't believe in it Enough to face the ultimate scrutiny head on.

Look at the lengths. How about just putting those resources together and go through a solid process of proving/disproving your hypothesis?

Doesn't B.o.B. have enough money to like, charter a boat and head for the edge of the world? Why doesn't he vlog on Youtube and travel and "prove" the earth is flat then?

"insignificant" is overstating it... given the size and scope we're talking about, "unfathomably irrelevant" seems more fitting.

The counterargument would go something like "well **I** don't have to prove anything, YOU need to prove that the Earth is round."

You show them libraries of scientific proof. Their response is "well these are all government paid scientists!"

Can't win.

i mean you gotta let people think they matter a tiny bit

but not really lol

more people should read Cosmos

As long you you have a mathematical formula to back you, you can use that as a platform to formulate your own theories. No video that I've seen on flat-earth provided any formula or logical physics to back up their assertions. It was just people being imaginative and it seems that they are 'going against the grain' just because or for shock value.

Nah my man, the internet is just fine. There's probably more fact inspired articles/videos on topics like this as their is conspiracy ones. It's people's lack of effort or interesting in finding the truth that is ruining people. I can open plenty of books at a library in the science or history secItion and read ton's of lies in those pages. example: Bible. Anyone can write a book and publish it without being corrected.
