Asics Love?!? Where is it?

Agreed. I honestly don't care what F&F do with their pairs they want to sell then sell them. But I don't like the fact that they are holding back pairs after F&F's pairs and then selling them.
Yes agreed. It's more than holding back pairs after the F&F release. It's holding back pairs after the general release too.

These Baits are decent imo. The midsole thing i am not into. But lets be real here, if these were concepts or solebox kids would be losing their heads over these.

Just a thought.

How f'd would it be if ebay ends up making more off these pairs of the Da Vinci's than ASICS themselves?

10% of $350-400 for ebay...I'd say $35 is a reasonable profit margin for ASICS off each individual pair when it is all said and done. LMFAO!

edit: For the record, I don't jack about these numbers in reality, just speculating...

not only is your speculation out of left field, it is obviously from a place with zero knowledge of wholesale vs retail. %50 mark up is average. $50 per pair of shoes at least. If they retailed for 100 which they didnt.

After seeing unfiltered pics of the spash cities... I've decided to pass on them. The shape looks weird and the materials look awful.
the suede on my pairs were coarse AF. IRL the blacks of the leather/suede clash horribly making it have this weird pseudo combination of a deep black/violet-blue hued black look when you look down.

idk even being a huge wars fan, imo it's a disgrace. the blue's don't even match...

Exaggeration on my part, I'll immediately admit to that. But I'm just trying to make the point it isn't all that far off!

100% mark up

I would assume after all the vast majority of their money is made off their GR products, these collabs are more to hype up their product. I think it is quite a privilege when a shop gets these pairs to sell.

Not at all am i coinciding with cmon or any boutqiues that are doing shady business. Ive just been in the game long enough to know this stuff is goina happen and we dont really have any control over it. taking away their accts will only make it harder for the consumers to cook. just being a realist.

I understand they didn't retail for $100. But it isn't their product to their sell at the end...it it released through one boutique and one boutique only.

A 1,000 - 2,000 pair collaboration is nothing in comparison to a massively produced general release made in the 100,000's.

My point is once C'MON receives the shipment for these pairs, they receive them at WHOLESALE.

I don't know how much it costs to produce a shoe, but I would assume the materials that go into a pair like the Da Vinci costs far more than the average general release. It would make sense for slightly more of the profit margin to go to the boutique on this type of release.

As far as profit is concerned, this is not a worthwhile business venture for ASICS. This is worth it to them for the sake of BUILDING HYPE!

So that their massively produced general releases serve as consolations prizes to those unaware of how to obtain the limited *** **** collabs.

Sure, I exaggerated a bit with my initial speculation, and ultimately don't have the numbers - but I would definitely not say I was out of left field.

But isn't it hard already that they backdoor pairs? Realistically let's say commonwealth loses their asics account on collabs that means about what 10-20 pairs won't be release to the public? I'm assuming for let's say the 25th collabs every store that didn't make the collab gets what 2-3 FSR. From we saw from commonwealth with the DIrty Bucks they only had a FSR for the public. So by closing their account we are taking around what 10 pairs that they released to the public. I don't see how 10 pairs is going to hurt the consumers the chances of cooking. I agree that maybe the people of Virigina Beach will be effected the most but I rather see a shady business be punish than to have a barely noticeable chance of cooking. Then this opens opportunity for asics to give the account to shops that deserves them.

Glad I passed. Money saved. More for those who want them.

With your extensive knowledge. Can you give me a ballpark range for these two questions:

a) How much did it cost for ASICS to produce each pair of Da Vinci's?

b) How much did they sell them to C'MON at wholesale value?

We all know that they retailed at $170 as sold by C'MON. Would $100 per pair, or even slightly less, be far off from the wholesale price they received from ASICS?

So in a sense, as far as ASICS revenue is considered, they sort of did retail for $100

I got a pair of the Da Vinci's, seems like I care the most

Only thing Asics care about is if people are talking about their product. Doesn't matter if its in a bad or good light, as long as people are talking about their product its a win.
