Tenso is a mail forwarding service. I use mail forwarding services from the US all the time so if they work the same, the process should be as follows:I've ordered some Mitas from Japan using Tenso.com as a proxy, anybody used these guys before?
I'm wondering if they send on to you as a gift or not?
You say you use that service in the US all the time. So you're located outside the US? That would be very useful for me, because here in Germany custom charges are crazy. With shipping and customs you're generally better off just paying resell.
Tenso is a mail forwarding service. I use mail forwarding services from the US all the time so if they work the same, the process should be as follows:
- Register on tenso and you'll be given a unique shipping address in Japan.
- Make purchase and item will be shipped to your address in Japan. (usually a commercial warehouse of some sort)
- Once the package reaches there you have to log into Tenso.com and ship it out to wherever you want.
- Shipping from tenso to wherever you are is another fee altogether.
- Typically if Mita does not declare the value of the package, you would have to declare it yourself, which means you can even declare the package as $1 if you wish.
- If Mita does declare the value of the package then that value cannot be changed unfortunately.
Thanks, I appreciate the info.

Yup, i live in Singapore. Mail forwarding helps me save quite a fair bit in the long run. You can consolidate shipments and ship them out together as well. Also helps that I only get charged customs if my package exceeds SGD$400 in value. So either consolidate below that value, or just undervalue and pray the authorities don't check. lol
There are a couple of EU sites that show stock from time to time, but once you check out... "out of stock"

115 quid for shipping is madness. Wishing you all the best man!

This is my first time using them so I wasn't totally sure how it all worked, I've added all shipping costs up and it comes to around £115 total shipped to the UK. I was just curious as to if I should expect customs fees, I know that when I've ordered in the past from places like RMKstore then they mark as a gift and I've never had to pay customs fees. Hopefully Mita doesn't declare the value then so I can declare it myself.
Thanks again, much appreciated.
Well then you got very generous customs over there, good for you! the limit here is 22€, so I always have to kinda tweak it. when i buy from private sellers, i often split the paying so i actually have documentation for the declared value. if you don't have any sort of documentation for the payment, it can become a really hassle to get you stuff.

That said if the store declares the value then you won't be able to do anything about it.

Haha! Nah man, that £115 is including the price of the Mita's too

That's a good price, price includes the shoes too - not just shipping. It's around $180
